Wing in CAM, allowed or not?

I finally got my Vette back from mods and repairs. Was supposed to be done end of January. Penske coilovers, cam, cold air intake, headers, heads ported and a tune. Getting 505 whp. Pretty awesome, hitting 149 on the back straight at VIR. I’m planning on the August event in CAM. No more AS. Question...

I need to cancel out of T&T so someone else can go. I Don’t see how to do it at MSR.

Re: Race seats in Street class

OK guys. Thanks for all the reply’s. The sentiment is clearly against race seats in street class. If I continue to track the Vette and install a seat, I’ll have to come up with a quick change setup for my visits to ETR or switch to CAM. Since the 4 point harness was mentioned, I’ll say once again ho...

Re: Race seats in Street class

Interesting.

I agree that 4 point belts are very, very dangerous and should NEVER be used.

Race seats in Street class

Official SCCA Street class rules do not seem to allow driver seat changes, but local clubs have some discretion in waiving some rules for local events. A safe, effective restraint system cannot be done properly without an SFI certified seat, and I’d like to install a harness bar, 6 pt harness and ra...

Re: Are You an Older Competitor?

Problem with CCR is that you have to abandon your base class to run the Masters PAX. I like the ETR proposal better.

Re: SA2015 Helmet, where can we buy on the cheap?

As far as track days, check the sanctioning organization for HPDE (NASA) or PDX/track night (SCCA) rules. Open face and M are allowed for HPDE and PDX. You don't need a fire suit, extinguisher, roll bar, Hans or harness either, but NASA does preach the value of each in mandatory classroom sessions. ...

Re: Annual Tech Inspection color poll

Will ETR honor annual techs from other clubs. I don't really want 4 2x2 decals on the windshield.

I know this doesn't fit cleanly here, but Geezers have privileges.

I'll fess up. 69. Geezer class sounds like fun. Hope to be there more this year. I still want to (try to) beat Walter every once in awhile.

Re: What have you done to your car

I bought a pair of 12x18 wheels for the back of the yellow Vette so I can run 335/18/30 rivals instead of the 345/19/30 pilot super sports. Stickier tires and lower gear ratio. Also found out how to reproducibly dial in rear 'toe in' to help use all that hp.

Re: Renting a tow vehicle?

I used the uhaul the two times I broke my tranny. It is a good rig. It tows well and has an inertial brake, so you don't need a brake controller. You do need the 4 plug lighting harness. It also has built in tie-downs that wrap neatly over the front tires. I think it is about $55/day. Holds 1 vehicl...

Re: Smack Talk 2015

Is there going to be a "Time Only" this year. I need a place to run my stock corvette with 180TW RE-11s (now 200tw). If not, I can go with SSR. Just need to get numbers.

I've got Sparco Evo III's in my 04 WRX. They are very comfortable for a long trip and weigh right at the 25 lb min for STX. They come in 4 widths for my big size butt. The EVO III is the widest. It fits only in front of the B pillar due to the shoulder "wings". I had a trim shop cut the dr...
