Re: 2019 pax

You should give them a shot! Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk Yeah, like I'd be able to tell the difference. Besides, I need to wear out my relatively new Rival S tires first. Speaking of which, I'm probably going to be in the market for a co-driver/crew person for next year. Changing tires at ...

Re: 2019 pax

I just looked up Falkens at Tire Rack. The Azenis RT615K+ might actually be a decent tire. The CAM size, the largest they make, would be 315/30/18. It has a load range of 98W and a max load of 1653 lbs. Compare that to the 315/30/18 BFG Rival S with a load range of 91W and a max load of 1356lbs. Eve...

Looks like a CAMC can run in the top five in raw times with a good driver. Not saying that includes me.
Jadrice is better than good. I don't know if he qualifies as an alien, but he's not that far off.

Re: 2019 pax

Now that I know what to look for, the Chevelle/Corvette isn't terrible, but it's not a world beater either. The Schoonmakers are now running a 69 Camaro in addtion to or instead of the 64 Chevelle, but I don't know anything about it. They seem to be finishing at about the same relative positions in ...

Re: 2019 pax

Mark, John Crouse's Malibu that runs CAM-T in Charlotte is a C5 Z06 underneath, built with no regard to weight. Strictly speaking, it's a 1964 Chevelle. Or at least that's what it said in the only 2018 CCR event that he entered, as far as I can tell. And it wasn't fast. You have to match the wheelba...

Re: 2019 pax

You can drop a 99 Mustang or whatever body on a Corvette if you think that is the ideal suspension/CoG and ballast weight, etc, etc, etc, etc.
I don't think you can and still be in CAM-C. You need four seats, not to mention being licensed and insured.

Re: 2019 pax

Steve, I mean, STU is way faster than AS. Is it really? Not at Lincoln in 2017. The 350Z has a narrower track and a shorter wheelbase than a Corvette. Both of those should make it faster. At the 2017 Solo Nationals, the Corvettes running in STU were similar in speed to Corvettes running in AS. AS, F...

Re: 2019 pax

The difference between CAM-S (0.833) and SSR (0.843) is also way too small. But the relative difference between CAM-S and CAM-C is about right.

Re: 2019 pax

I don't see that CAM-C will ever be faster than a properly prepared and driven AS Corvette. Yet the AS PAX is lower than the CAM-C PAX. Suspension and tires can only do so much against a lighter car with a lower center of gravity and similar power to weight. For that matter, CAM-C has never been al...

Re: 2019 pax

I could spend 1400.00 dollars and drop 210 pounds for cam but it wouldn't be legal for ESP. Only $1400? What's that, hood and trunk lid? My car isn't legal for ESP now anyway. If you weren't running ESP, you could change your rear axle ratio rather than the pulley on your blower. Except for that on...

Re: 2019 pax

I think we are about to see some cam cars really pushing the min weight and that will make them faster I think by a lot. I dunno about a lot faster. Less weight and no wing might make it harder to put power down. Can you see a significant difference in time when you have a passenger? About half the...

T&S would lose their minds with the shoe polish numbers these days!
Back in the late 1960's when I was autocrossing my 1965 MGB in Austin, shoe polish on the windshield was all we had for street cars. That was still in the number circle era of road racing.
