My friend just rented a 2015 Ram 2500 (hemi, not diesel) from Hertz, but they do have a lock through the receiver. I'm working on finding out for myself if that can be removed since I need to pick up my other car from my parents house in Nashville before they sell it. Worst case I know of a way to r...

Re: Jetport this Sunday
The jet delay shouldn't be a typical occurrence. He does let us use the front of his hangar as the paddock and as such we need to accommodate. We still left at a decent time.

Re: Jetport this Sunday
I tried to re-use areas that were scrubbed up for the painful bits (turnaround) but ran over some fresh stuff to work on knocking the edges and dust off of it. I think it will be a great venue, we just need moar attendance to keep it viable. I'm glad you guys enjoyed it! I was so worried it would su...

Re: Jetport this Sunday
Just poking - the spread in pro was fairly tight, so I guess it wasn't too turrible so far as that goes.

Re: Jetport this Sunday
I designed the course, I'm a first timer. Got some compliments, some complaints... John, it's probably good that you didn't come. I don't think I could take the abuse.
The great thing about autocross though - everyone has to run the same thing! Some video should go up today.

Re: Driving Frustration Setting In
Not to further confuse anyone but I've always head that sway bars have effect on the grip at the opposite end of the car as a function of weight transfer. If the rear bar is stiffer then you are increasing the roll stiffness in the rear allowing the front suspension to load up the outside wheel (why...

Re: Driving Frustration Setting In
Lift-off oversteer probably isn't an option in that car since it is a staggered setup with a decent amount of weight on the rear end. Running wider tires in the front (same size front and rear ideally, not sure of wheel spec, you don't want to squeeze on too much tire) would make a tremendous differ...

Re: Driving Frustration Setting In
Was this in 'competitive mode'?
My car has this complete with launch control and all that good stuff, but I find it to be very invasive and unpredictable while AX'ing. I'm sure the 1LE has revised traction control settings from the base SS since so many of the underpinnings are different?

Re: Driving Frustration Setting In
I only ever looked at the tire sizes (I'm no 'Camerica expert), but in my mind that is still a 'square' setup tire-wise and would help mitigate the understeer issue

Re: Driving Frustration Setting In
I simply posted that to show that a stiffer rear bar is probably going to give the desired balance. One bar is allowed in stock... Stepping up to the FE5 or one of the adjustable race bars may be what's needed. I'm not sure a square setup would be legal unless you did the entire 1LE swap. I think be...

Re: Driving Frustration Setting In
From some brief forum'ing I came across this. Its a list of their different options and relative bar stiffness - note that the 'performance' oriented FE5 OEM stuff keeps a relatively soft front bar while the rear bars increase steeply in rate as you move up in factory suspension packages. Do you kno...

Re: Driving Frustration Setting In
I was Dewitt's co-driver at the park and I was quite surprised at how neutral and forgiving the car was and how well it rotated on/off throttle and under braking. It just always wanted to turn. I was surprised at his tire pressures as well as they sounded more like something I would run on my somewh...

^ ha, I also have a Cobalt SS/TC with the Quaife ATB and I can't imagine the car without it!
