Re: Tires for the shelby
The PSS is going to have a touch softer sidewalls than your typical competitive autox street tire.

Anybody tried Stoptech's new Street pads?
steverife wrote:HPS with a greater heat tolerance sounds like a darn good pad to me.
No argument here. They should be a great upgrade/replacement for the guys who love the HPS's.
They just don't have the feel or bite of even an entry level race pad such as the HP+.

Anybody tried Stoptech's new Street pads?
No problem.
Hawk HP+'s are right at .45 CF with a 60-900F temp range. That 900 seems a bit low though as they really will take some heat. General consensus is they are good up to about 1100 degrees.

.40 CF. 60-1300F Temp Range
Everyone I talk to says it lacks in feel and in bite.
Its designed to target the Hawk HPS users. As it is the same .40 CF but has a much higher temp capacity. HPS: 60-800F

I'm considering going with my origional idea of running the car in BS. I think with the street tire class next year, the car might have a better chance against the S2K's.

Re: Miata & STI Street Tire Question
Thanks everyone. From what's been posted so far I'm leaning towards Toyos on the Miata and Star Specs on the Subaru on some Rotas. So, what sort of all season should I put on the OEM STI wheels for winter? I've always liked the Kumho ASXs as they're relatively cheap and have done well in light snow...

What pads and fluid are you running?Austin Lanz wrote:Yeah I'm wondering if maybe I should put Slotted rotors on the front. atleast, or maybe it would be cheaper to buy an electric leaf blower to hold beside the wheels after each run. haha

Re: Question for the rule book people..
I agree, if there are no plans for national competition just do what ever you want to the car and run STM. Throw some 265 star specs under it and have at it.

Re: The Official 2011-12 Off Season Plans thread!
Part of my sponsorship with ISC is they send me fresh dampers each season. I have been running the street sport valving dampers I may have them send me some track series dampers to try. I want a bigger front bar to try and see if it helps the understeer some Not knowing your setup, I would think a ...

Didn't you just buy those coil-overs this season? Are you changing the valving/spring rate setup? Why a bigger front bar?
