Driver looking for a 24 hours of lemons team - CMP - April 19th-21st

Any Knoxville teams looking for a driver? I rather team up with someone local, if possible.

I have my own helmet, hans device, and firesuit.

Re: Flat Rock USA to replace OR Motorsports Park

I just got an email from Eric at Flat Rock inviting me to the grand opening on Dec 19th and I will probably go just to see what they have to offer if anything as far as TTN and time trials. Hopefully we will get a better rate or understanding what or how or when scca will get the chance to host eve...

Re: Best shops for services (Alignment, Tire Mounting, etc.)

Whats everyone paying now for a tire mount and balance in 2024?

I just paid $36 after tax for a single tire mount, no TPMS, no tire disposal. I felt that was a bit high. I guess I'm still used to $20 pre-covid prices? Asking because I am about to mount and balance 12 more tires.

Re: Track night in america

I moved/requested a change in date as well. I picked Road Atlanta, Friday June 26th. Weird year. This event moved due to weather, and 4 trips, motley crue concert, Knoxville brewfest, and an event at the Biltmore all cancelled or rescheduled so far this year due to Covid-19. I'm looking forward to a...

Re: Track night in america

Weather is not looking in our favor at this point. I'm hoping in a few days the forecast changes. I'm not against driving in light rain at the track to help polish off some rusty driving skills, but I really don't want heavy rain on track, or the 6 hours round trip.

Nice. Chris it's been a long time since I have seen ya. Have you been to AMP before? I have not, but heard it's great.

Re: Can anyone comment on the Nitto NT05 or any other 200 TW tire?

Camaro is back on the road! I took it to Townsend last weekend, and tonight I got to be a little more aggressive with it by myself (wife was with me before) and test the tires and new brakes. Overall, I'm impressed with these tires. New Wilwoods are good too. To be honest, I did so many cha...

Re: Can anyone comment on the Nitto NT05 or any other 200 TW tire?

I wish these last few tire recommendations came in my size options. None really come close without stepping up to a 19" diameter, which I am not interested in. As for the Timken bearings, I need to talk to my coworker. I could have sworn he worked for Timken here in the states. That doesn't mea...

Re: Can anyone comment on the Nitto NT05 or any other 200 TW tire?

I have Timkens on mine but rumor has it they don't last long with track or autocross use. I would bring at least one spare with you. From what I hear, the best option is Stanoparts setup using SKF hubs made for C5 Corvettes and an adapter. That's an expensive setup, though. Sent from my SM-G930P us...

Installing Timken bearings right now with longer wheel studs. Im swapping out for added safety and age more than anything. The old ones didn't show concern or wear, but while I had the brakes off I decided to change them out.

Re: Can anyone comment on the Nitto NT05 or any other 200 TW tire?

Ok ok....money no object....Toterhome and double stacker. Buy another Camaro and you won't even have to change tires if it rains. Sold. But I'm keeping it at your house. :) After more hours of researching, I decided to try the NT05s. 275s up front, 315s in the rear. That will come out to below $100...

Re: Can anyone comment on the Nitto NT05 or any other 200 TW tire?

First question I have is how much are you wanting to spend on wheels and tires or what is your budget? $800-1300 for tires. Let's assuming money was no object - what would your choice be then? ECS or Michelin PS4S on whatever wheels you have plus a tire trailer and a set of the biggest Rivals you c...

Re: Can anyone comment on the Nitto NT05 or any other 200 TW tire?

Yep, and my guess is those NT05's might be just as bad, with as big as the tread blocks are and as shallow as the water evac channels are. I still stand by my recommendations. Those tires would let *me* push a car about as far as I'm comfortable with on track without a prepped car (cage, fire, etc....
