Re: Can anyone comment on the Nitto NT05 or any other 200 TW tire?

The Falkens are okay in the rain and cold. Not great, but pretty good for a TW200. They are durable and pretty good laterally. They don't power down or brake as well as the popular autocross 200TW's. They don't take well to blended inputs, but that is more of an autocross concern. In an autocross se...

Re: Zmax event on 2/22

I've ran there several times the last 2 years and I never got less than 4 runs.

I've never done it, but I've seen "time only" entries there. So you might even have the option of work 2 heats, run 2 heats.

I think having a really solid excuse to fall back on helps me just drive without putting pressure on myself.

Re: Zmax event on 2/22

Lot is sealed asphalt, with some subtle camber changes, and a tooth rattling trench drain. Grip is weird. Race tires allegedly love it. Street tires have this pushy/loose/is my car broken? feel to it. Lots of hearing damage inducing CAM cars there, if you are into that kind of thing. A group of us w...

Re: 2020 AutoCross Opening Weekend at BMS

I'd actually thought about running one of the XS classes or STM, since Pro does seem kind of dead. Pro isn't very fun if it is only 2 or 3 people.

...but I'm not sure there is enough consistent meaningful competition for that to be worthwhile.

Re: Dixie/Zmax

I"m sure they'll fill all 15 spots, but I'm sure some people will cancel cause they don't have their car ready or whatever else.

Stuff last summer was going 30 or 40 deep in cancellations.

Re: Dixie/Zmax

I haven't looked at the latest list, but Jed was 10th the other day and I think 4 or 5 above him were CCR.

I don't understand why people register on a Weds, then cancel immediately. They must REALLY hate money.

Re: 2020 AutoCross Opening Weekend at BMS

Z06 isn't an STU car, so that is a tough sell.

I don't recall the mods. I was thinking rear wheels all around and maybe decatted?

Aside from Cory, anyone planning on running pro this season?
Yeah. I guess so.

...though I'm not sure I'll be together for the first event.

Now when Bob hassles registration about no event discounts, he can no longer say that the SCCA does nothing for veterans.

Re: Solo Nationals question

Yeah, personally, I may or may not like it, but I can make it work.

...but previous me generally needed to show up at the office at least 1 day that nats week. When Aaron and I ran, Aaron had to work Friday. When Kristo/Curt/Heather and myself went out, we left Tuesday after work.
