About 430 local time I think

Definitely made the right call. I hate bailing after morning runs, which I often seem to do there.

Still debating. Looks like low 40's for much of the morning.

Re: Huntsville Sunday

Debating going. Really kind of pointless with no one to run against, though.

Re: Are you using data and video?

Couldn't really do between runs only after runs. None of us were versed enough to pull it up quickly between. As far as what we saw....Jim killed us in the slaloms...lol. I run both video and data on the tablet but I find the data more useful for me than the video. Whether comparing my own runs or ...

Re: Are you using data and video?

I run both video and data on the tablet but I find the data more useful for me than the video. Whether comparing my own runs or like we did at Zmax between others, I get more from it than straight video. And as Chris said the angle from the tablet isn't really good for looking at certain things. I ...

Re: Trailer rental

It is your vacation and you should do it exactly how you want, but I think you would be hard pressed to make the logistics more complicated. :)

Re: Are you using data and video?

I always felts like I was a better Hoosier driver than street tires, though I don't think I've driven anything race tires in like 8 years. I think I could do well in something relatively low powered in SP or P. A t&t might be good for actually having a chance to practice messing with a camera and So...

Re: Are you using data and video?

It is tough. You are taught that if the tire makes a certain pitch, it is unhappy and to back off. I haven't figured out how to listen for push on that tire. Sometimes it'll be screaming, but it'll take what you give. Sometimes it doesn't. I can't even tell if the car is pushy or loose. Maybe I need...

Re: 2018 ETR Champions

I think STS, then STS2, came out in 2005 and the open diff NA8's were in the class. People tend to gravitate towards the 1.6 cars because while they make a bit less power, they are lighter, have more favorable gearing, and the diff makes then more fun and easier to drive. Several have ran the 1.8 at...

Re: Are you using data and video?

What I think I really need is something that overlays tire squeal db's with g forces so I can develop an ear for peak grip.

Re: 2018 NCAC

Based off my runs, I'd say the gearing would have been pretty bad for an ND. With that said, he had to be "off pipe" in the turn arounds.

I watched him from up top and he doesn't necessarily drive the traditional tight autocross lines.

Would have loved to see Kenton run some more CS national events in the RX8.

I'm sure it will benefit me. I had planned to mess with it this year, but really wanted to focus on getting comfortable with the new car.

Re: Are you using data and video?

So it doesn't seem like folks are getting a lot on their runs alone?

That'd be my primary short term objective. Look at run #1, look at run #2, and put together a plan for run #3.
