Re: 01 mr2, good deal or no?
Oil starvation shouldn't be a major concern for street tire autocross. Definitely make sure you have oil in the car and probably opt out of any spirited laps around the oval, but you should be fine for a couple seconds in the throttle around a sweeper in ES or ES+ trim.

Re: 01 mr2, good deal or no?
They are kinda inherently pushy. But once you figure out the weight transfer, they are pretty magical mid-turn.

Re: 01 mr2, good deal or no?
That seems like a very fair price, if the car is solid. The primary major issues are pre-cat failure that will push pieces of cat through the engine and cause failure (you can pull the o2 sensor and see the shape of the pre-cat) and the 00-02 had an oiling issue. The 03+ cars are at less risk for th...

Re: 2023 tires
I plan to be on Yokohamas again.
If I were you, I'd probably do the Falkens. On all 4 corners. No reason to complicate things on a square setup that you can rotat when the goal is to have fun at local events.

Re: WTB: 15"x6" SSR Wheels
Yup. I owned Brian's set very briefly, but they didn't clear the front calipers on the the Spyder. I sold them to Brian Hertweck. I'd say they've probably changed hands a few times since. 949 Racing 6UL's are another decent choice, but they are probably just as hard to find. I wanted Volks for my Sp...

Re: Oct 9 event
I want to do the Charlotte Tour the next week, so I definitely don't want to tie up 2 days. May or may not do 1 day depending on weather/format/motivation.

Re: CHIEF OF rEGISTRATION
The big thing is getting the events set up and in MSR at the beginning of the year. Then registration questions will be routed to your email. I suppose the other thing is making sure you have a crew for events, but that is typically pretty easy.

Re: Event 9 Course Design
Wasn't there, but I don't think there was anything on that course that would have kept my car from having a chance to be in the mix. Looks like I would have been out of the power band in places and looks like it would have been pushy for people that can't rely on throttle rotation at all speeds, but...

Re: Formula SAE Team, Registration and Multiple Drivers
I'm no sound meter, but I've been throwing discs at Pelli during test sessions in the spring and nothing stood out as loud.
