I really like my Maxxis tires, both VR1 and RC1.

Shameless plug, the EAG C&C will be at the Pinnacle from 8-11 on Saturday with our annual Poker Run immediately following. Not a spirited driving event, but a good cruise nonetheless.

It's still a strut design, but there is a lower control arm as well as a front tension strut. The clunk when you stab or slap the brake pedal is the wheels moving backwards until what's left of the bushing compresses. You can tell if they're really bad because the fluid will be leaking out. Otherwise, it's a feel thing. I repeatedly jab the brakes at ~20-30mph to confirm.

Toe out up front, more pressure in the rear, more brake bias (via bite-y pads) in the rear, spray the fronts and not the rears. Chuck it in there, loose is fast.

Man, I wish they did more TNiA on a Friday....that's really cool. Radiohead that Wednesday before and AMP the week after, so no way I can do this one. RA is cool, though, especially for that price. Highly recommended. :D

I would bet that they got bent during shipping. Speaking for Kristo's wheels-- No way. There was no sign of any shipping damage whatsoever, on the wheel or the boxes, and that thing was as out-of-round I've ever seen a brand-new wheel be.
