Dave - Thanks for posting the photos - great action pics. I was hoping that someone snapped a photo of my land barge in action. I was by myself yesterday and didn't have anyone to take photos of the car on the course. But, I'd like a couple for my webpage. I'll get some next time.

2004 SCCA Rules CD

What format is the 2004 Rules file on the Rulebook CD? I can read the "cover" PDF file, but my PC doesn't know what program to use to open the "SCCA National Solo" file and it has no file extension.

I can't speak for the other novices, but I worked the first group. The work detail person said that I would work first and run 3rd. However, after working, I saw my name on the group 2 white board, so I ran with that group. During group 3, I saw that there was very little help, so I helped they guy ...

Thanks ETR-SCCA

Today's event was my first autocross rodeo. I had a GREAT time!! Everyone was very friendly and extremely helpful to this novice. While the SSled was certainly not the fastest car on the course, it wasn't the slowest either. I managed to make it through all 3 runs without hitting a cone or going off...

Sunday event still "on" if it rains?

This is my first event, so I don't know how this works. There is a chance of rain on Sunday. Will the event still be held if there is inclement weather?

Wayne - I'll look you up next Sunday. I shouldn't be too hard to spot. I'll probably have the only 4300 lb. 4-door sedan out there.

Since I don;t even know what an "official Solo Sticker" is, I'll probably need some of those too. :)

Thanks,
Terry

Williampreza - I missed that the first time. :)

Even though I'm a novice, I hope to get through the cones in less than a week!

Yes, me too. Stand back where it's safe. :)

SCCA Rule Book

March 7th will be my first Autocross event. I just received my SCCA membership card and documentation late this week. There is an order form in there to purchase items such as the SCCA rule book. However, there's know way that I cand order a ruke book and have it delivered before the March 7th event...

I know Harvey Clark and his "Purpala" very well. Harvey is the President of the Impala SS Club of America. He's actually from Arkansas, right next door to Texas. You should see that Purple and yellow behemouth on a Road Course. I raced with Harvey at the Hallet Motor Circuit (1.8 mile 11-t...

Mark - I'll try to make the early event, but I may not have my car ready by early March. I have quite a few maintenance items and upgrades planned before I run, particularly to the braking system: New rotors Rebuild calipers install braided steel lines new Hawk HPS pads flush system & refill wit...

"Don't worry about your car, I saw an SS do very well in Nashville."

That's probably a friend of mine - Allen Mirse. He's been encouraging me to give this thing a try.

Thanks. I'll keep watching for new info.

Newbie saying "Hello"

Just dropping in to say hello - was invited over here from a thread on the StreetRacing forum by Mr. Disney. I live in West Knoxville. I'm not even a novice yet as I've never run an event. But, I mailed my membership application with a check to the SCCA this morning to join region 68, and I'm going ...
