Daggum, foiled again. I'll be checking the forums for a "rain check" run sometime later this winter...I've been wanting to go up with a big group of ETR guys for a while.

How does meeting at the turn off of 411 (the turn onto 129 itself, correct?) at 2:30 sound to everyone? That sounds like it'll give everyone time to be there, it's still in cell service so James could tell us if he's going to wimp out of not, and we'd still have a little under 3 hours of daylight to...

The most important thing for me is tires. Those don't last long at all on the STi. Do I get more tire??    Actually completely off subject and now that I have mentioned tires.. I have been looking at getting some good street tires to use for rain events next year. The Toyo's an...

I voted no, because in theory you could put just as much stress on the engine on the street...however, most people aren't ballsy (stupid?) enough to push that hard on public roads. I don't think running at high RPM's or under load is what hurts the engines--they're designed to do that for extended p...

Honestly, it seems like a lot of these setup changes are just guesses. If I were unhappy with how my car was handling, I would "reset" everything I could in order to find out which handling "symptoms" are caused by which suspension setting. I'd go back to the stiffest front/rear ...

"or follow 3 feet off my bumper" ...and everytime you got goin a lil too fast I got nervous, backed off, and flashed my lights  didnt wana make ya wreck. Meh, I wasn't really worried--the tires generally only make noise whne they're about to break loose...pretty useful, compared to t...

+1, I got to try out my new tires and brakes today. Minimal traffic, zero police presence...nice day to push a little harder than normal and really have some fun. I got James' semi-approval because my car is now "fun to chase[or follow 3 feet off my bumper]", lol.

Well, a 335f/450r spring rate is a .7444 front/rear spring rate ratio, and a 500f/550r combo is a .909091 ratio...it's possible that could be part of your problem. This assumes, of course, that these springs are designed specifically for your car, with that being close to the ideal ratio...if memory...

What diameter sways do you have, and what diameters are available? Maybe I'm missing something obvious, but if you haven't already, I'd get the stiffest front and rear I possibly could and back either front or rear rate down from there...more roll stiffness isn't going to hurt a car than already lif...
