Re: **January Fastrack News**

The thing is turbo cars are not that easy to just turn up the boost. A change in either wastegate "spring" or something inline with the wastegate boost/vacuum line to alter the pressure signal is needed. With an aftermarket ECU (and possibly some stock ECUs) you can control a solenoid to o...

Re: **January Fastrack News**

Do most modern cars come with an electronic boost controller? I thought most were still governed by the wastegate spring. With an electronic boost controller the advantage is massive. My car set up for quickest spool is stupid fun on the street but it makes it twitchy for autocross. I set the boost ...

Re: spring rate

Extended top hats made a huge difference on my Bilstein/Ground Control setup. Before I could feel me smashing into the bumpstops all over Pellissippi. After the tophats it was like 1 or 2 places I could feel getting deep into them. I run the larger FatCat Motorsports stops but, many just buy some ch...

That I cannot do. I had all my aluminum IC pipe welded by Volenteer Radiator off Middlebrook. You may could try euro 129 or that rotary shop out near you.

Re: Metal bandsaw

I've got a portaband with a vertical stand you can use. It only has a 5" throat so you may need to cut from two directions if you cant get it on the first run. Just changed the blade in it so it's sharp and easy to use.

Re: 95 Miata M-Edition

Turbo to manifold, unless I'm mistaken. http://www.trackspeedengineering.com/Turbocharging/Turbo-Parts/trackspeed-inconel-stud-kit.html Ah, shucks. I already have my manifold tapped with the TSE 10mm stuff. It's a great upgrade for hard use. Not many people are turbo around here, and with the holid...

Re: STM tire rule.

I ran the 225 RivalS this season. It's a good tire and has good street manners as well. On a light car like mine they heat up pretty quickly. They also communicate well when they are on the limit. They wear quick. I ran them at about 23psi squared and that seemed to be a pretty good sweet spot. Car ...

Re: 95 Miata M-Edition

Is the Inconel kit for the downpipe to turbo or the turbo to manifold?

Re: STM tire rule.

Isn't there a pretty large difference between an R7 and a 100tw tire? Also not sure if any of the cars are xp legal really. I would need to trim back aero, add weight, buy back interior pieces....I would probably just stick to STM and do what Lucas did and DFQ myself if I decide to buy some track ty...

Re: 95 Miata M-Edition

I posted this in a local miata based group on Facebook. I think that is a great price for everything on the car. I am sure it will sell quick. I remember it being over at Andrew's for awhile. I helped hold a few bolts when Lucas was putting your roll bar in, lol.

Re: STM tire rule.

There was some concern with having cheap 140tw tires after last year but, that never seem to come about. I think maybe 2 sets were even sold from the dedicated street guys and a few ran STM because they didn't want to buy/back ordered 200tw tires. I think letting 100tw stuff in is an interesting tho...

Re: My Amod is going away now with pic of new car

What tire is offered in a 245x15 outside the Maxxis? Is the new RSRR offered in that size?

Re: STM tire rule.

Honestly I don't think there is a 140tw tire faster than the 200tw tires. We wanted to keep the rule so us STM guys could but cheap 140tw tires which didn't really happen. I think all the regulars are in 200tw at this point. With that said I don't know if someone is going to change the rule. I think...

Re: My Amod is going away

It's a mcsorley 442. Miata rear subframe the RX7 lsd. SR20DET motor and trans. It's pretty rough right now. Plan on continuing the shake downs this year and making it street legal. Then taking it apart to paint and finalize everything next winter. That thing looks awesome! I have an RX7 diff in my ...
