Re: Race seats in Street class

While I use a harness bar and 4pt harness, I'd never argue that either/or are safe or effective, especially as a safety measure, at the minimum at an autocross or especially at a track day.

Make sure your shop uses BE bearings if it comes to that. No point going back with stock if you're that far in.

Re: e92 M3 / 6th Gen Mustang Questions

It's even worse. Run away.

Fwiw, my pick would be a 6spd e90 328i, but I don't mind having <300hp.

DCT seems reliable if you keep up with fluid changes, every 50k I think. I still prefer 6spds, though. SMG is terrible....drives like your girlfriend who lied and said she knew how to drive stick.

Re: e92 M3 / 6th Gen Mustang Questions

The s65 rod bearings should be done every 80k unless you REALLY like pain. Otherwise, the cars are pretty solid and a lot of fun. I'd probably steer you towards an LCI e90 335. The n55 seems a lot more solid than the n54, but there are still the typical "German" issues to consider. You rea...

Re: True Trac diff

I think if you spec'd a Giken or equivalent out with the proper friction material and a metric Sh!t-ton of clutches it would hold up fine. Be prepared for sticker shock on the price of their fluid, though.

That's a helical, which is basically like a Torsen. +1 for going clutch-type. OSGiken, Kaaz, etc.

Re: Tire issues

I think Kristo's issue was more that the barrel wasn't perfectly concentric with the center bore. Didn't have any trouble seating his Rivals, though. Some tires are just a pain and there's no rhyme or reason as to why.

Yes to ETR membership. It is also preferred that you have permanent/magnetic/not-painters-tape numbers.
