I had not figured out that this EAG C+C was going to be at the Pinnacle - thanks for that update.

Re: Harper's Cars + Coffee

Stopped at Weigels to get a cold drink @ 7:20 this morning. When I came back out the lower radiator hose had blown apart - dumped all antifreeze out of the cobra. Fixed that in 20 minutes, but waited 2.5 hours for the engine to cool off before refilling with water (you can call me chicken if you lik...

Re: Post event 5

After my first run, I was so scared that I coasted about half the way up the hill coming into the 180. Fun though! I have to admit I was chicken lifting coming into the last 180 because it was a little blind in the Cobras, either that or I was blind from screaming up the hill with the acceleration ...

Re: Spring Nats

May I add:

It's a very funny thing to me that scca can throw anything american (including kit cars) into three classes on street tires with pretty much no other rules (and that's a success story)...

And still needs 60 more classes to sort everything else out.

Maybe I'm the crazy one....

Re: True Trac diff

P.S.

I have also heard of issues related to IRS vs solid axle.

IRS axles lock in differently - if the unit wasn't machined for that application it won't work - the axles won't lock in the carrier.

No problems with my 8.8 IRS True Trac.

Couldn't remember if JY was IRS or not.

Re: True Trac diff

Best as I recall the torque differential of the True Trac is higher than the T2 but lower than the T2R, but the True Trac doesn't use clutches to get there like the T2R - simply different angles on the helical gears. Seems like Auburn gear also made one that looked promising (could not find it in a ...

Re: Dixie National... the Official Thread.

Interesting that the same trans is used in the Mustang as well as the later model C6 Corvettes. You might find this interesting too... The earlier 6 speed was the T56 - used in Viper, Mustang, Corvette, Camaro, Firebird, GTO, Cadillac CTS-V, and others. Although they were all "T56", the i...

The secret is to go often enough and be fast enough to get to be friends with the people that work there.
