I hate to hear that, I must admit to being slightly jealous of your car--it is pristine. Get her running again!! 8)

Re: WTB: 14x6 or 15x6 with 4x100 bolt pattern

I have a set of 4 e30 weaves, which I believe are 14x6 (there's a chance they're 5.5). 57.1mm centerbore, 25mm offset. Mint condition, but need cleaned badly. Crap tires mounted. I would shoot some paint on them and get slicks, but could use the money more.

Re: breaker bar for tough bolts?

^Ditto, I have been scolded for this as well. Using it the wrong way will affect the adjustment of the internal bands. I replaced mine with a $15 Harbor Freight unit, as it was probably going to be cheaper and definitely easier than getting it recalibrated.

Re: Couple Miata fluid questions.

I think I ran Mobil1 10w40 or maybe even 15w50 synth in mine. 5W30 is recommended, I think, but a lot of people go thicker. It seems to make those hydraulic lifters chatter less. Amsoil is too $$$ for a turbo car, but I have used it before and really liked it. On a car as basic as a Miata, I think a...

Re: WTB: Miata BBS wheels

I used to have a '93 LE complete with a set, but I sold it about a year ago. http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/gg161/lcolem10/11th%20Street%20Garage%203-11-08/Picture002.jpg They're not actually 8.5 pounds. Most sources indicate closer to 10 or 11; I never weighed mine, so I can only speak of what ...

Re: Anyone using megasquirt pnp on a miata?

I, too, am in search of someone with MS tuning experience. I have someone lined up, but it never hurts to have a backup, or a second opinion. Turbo was the easy part. :? FWIW, I have Megatune running on my home machine, which has Windows 7 RC1. Obviously I'm not connecting it to the car, though--jus...

Josh, I'm not sure I'm ok with you ditching the s2k for this, but it does sound like a cool swap.

From the sound of it, SM is going to be fun this year.

Re: So, um F1 next season

I'm pretty convinced that auto racing is a participator's sport, not a spectator's...at least in this country. I think NASCAR kind of appeals to this by being a race, demolition derby, soap opera, gift shop, and BBQ all rolled into one event. They attract tons of people and some hardcore fans in the...

Re: What cars should I be looking at?

These are good options, but most of them are out of his price range. If I were wanting to spend 12K, I'd get a decent, older, daily-driver (read: dent-friendly) RWD platform like a 240sx, e30, or Miata. Use the rest for insurance, upgrades, tires, autox entry fees, etc. Stretching your budget for a ...
