Re: Spec Miata / Heads

The issue for Spec Miata heads are the specific GCR rules regarding 'plunge cut' machining below each valve seat. These rules were 'clarified' a few years ago, with these 2 paragraphs focused on the plunge cut: 3. The throat area of the port consists of the 90 degree angle at the very bottom of the ...

Re: I RECONNECTED THE STOCK AIR BOX AND HAVE A ?

According to the Miata factory service manual the upper control arm & ball joint are not separable - there is a procedure for replacing the boots: http://mazdaracers.com/topic/1758-upper-ball-joint/page__hl__%2Bupper+%2Bball+%2Bjoint__fromsearch__1 The upper ball joint isn't available separately...

Need info re: 2005 V6 Eclipse transaxle removal

A friend is trying to replace the clutch on his 2005 Elclipse; he already has axle shafts out, periperherals disconnected, etc. He also has all the external transaxle to bellhousing bolts out, and can crack open the joint at the bottom of the tranaxle/bellhousing. There appears to be something else ...

Re: You opinion please....

Here's a new TraqMate Complete for sale on eBay at $749, shipping included. That's the the best price I've seen for a Complete, even when there's a rare used one for sale. Don't know how helpful the dash display unit is for autocrossing, but the best Basic system price (without the dash display) I'v...

Re: Oil slick

The use of explosives on surface well blowouts put out the fire by momentarily starving the fire of air & fuel - then they have to come in and either close valves on the existing wellhead stack, or remove the broken stack, mount a new stack over the flow, and then close the valve - all while the...

Re: WTB late production 1.6L Miata engine

John,
Got a long block in the basement - I think it was original in my '92 with about 130k miles on the odometer. Then another 750 miles in my first year running SM before I got the crate motor. No problems I know of, so should be good for block/head rebuild. Call me at 660-2456.

1990's video arcade games - free

Free for the taking - 2 1990's video arcade games, big things like the pinball machines from my youth. They ended up in my car trailer when I helped a company move into new offices. Both are some kind of war/action games - haven't looked for the name/manufacture yet, also don't know if the coin oper...
