Several years ago, I pulled a 16' Sea Ray jet boat from Maryville to Fountain City, then to west Knoxville and back. Wish I had gotten a picture of that. You couldn't see the Miata at all from behind.

If my Miata would pull a John Deere riding mower on a similar trailer and 1.25" hitch, I'd say a small toolbox and some tires would be a breeze.
