Re: All that coolant for $1.95 now for those T20 bolts
I did it with the throttle body on. I'd leave it on, otherwise you'd probably want to replace the throttle body/intake manifold gasket as well. Personally, I'd bypass those coolant lines. They're there to keep the throttle butterfly from freezing in subzero temperatures, but it has the negative effe...

Re: Can anybody here weld?
Extra money? Yeah, wouldn't we all. I got it done, more or less. I'm still working on my wastegate dump, and I have one last bracket to tack on, visible in the third picture next to the jack. Also, I was wondering if it would be safe to have all the piping routed where it is with no heat shielding, ...

Can anybody here weld?
I think there's a couple of you running around here, so I figured I'd ask. I've been making my own exhaust with piping/mandrel curves for an upcoming project (actually, this is the only major thing holding it back from being a DONE project). I've measured most of it out and tacked it together with m...

Re: How to do a quick transmission swap!
+1, higher strength bolts require higher torque specs. That's a whole can of worms in and of itself. My flywheel bolts are original, and the ARPs in my engine were torqued to 85 ft.-lbs. by the previous owner. :!:  Stock spec is like 22 ftb-lbs., 90 degree turn, 90 degree turn. Be very, very ...

+1 on Tire Barn. I got a set of BFGs there with their equivalent of Road Hazard for a couple dollars more than Tire Rack would've been, not counting the mount/balance. Seems like a good group of people.

Re: MINI of Knoxville
I think the Grayson dealerships here just need new ownership/management. The upper-end staff I've dealt with, at least on the BMW side, have been nothing short of despicable. I couldn't tell you if it's because I'm young, don't drive/couldn't afford a brand new car, or a combination, but it's pretty...
