sorry.. had to go return some uncooked chicken... so yes, the clutch will slip more as more gear lube leaks out. it will after time be able to be seen and smell it where it drips out the bottom of the bell housing at the sheet metal cover by the motor. Clutch cable: there should be some free play in...

the diff center pin is held in place by 2 LARGE rivet heads that also hold on the ring gear. Over time the pin hammers on the rivit head as it is driven. eventually after say 80K to 120K miles it might (notice might, not all do it) hammer the rivit head out till it hits the trans case. the hard stee...

threaded clutch adjuster is on drivers side in front of trans right behind the radiator fan. Those years of VW also had the self machining gearbox. VW left out a 15 cent circlip in the diff and used larger rivit to hold in the diff pin. if trans fluid is at the clutch cover plate on bottom, congrats...

Did you get the ball park settings on the mixture.. so many turns out from closed... rich is better than lean, unless you feel like replac...

what is the problem? besides not starting? If it's a 2 stroke that has been sitting a lil while you might need to clean the carb out and a new spark plug.

I have the “scribe a line around the tire and set the pointers on the line in back of tire, then measure how far different the pointer is off the line in the front” kind. It is more accurate than the 2 toe plate kind because the scribe takes out side to side bent rim error. Plus the price was right ...

Norfolk report

Y’all folks that didn’t come to Norfolk missed a wonderful time. Weather reports stated somewhere between 3 to 5 ¼ inches of rain in a 24 hr period Sat. We got 4 runs on both days. Sunday had dry pavement, but a mist in the air. The concrete has lots of grip. So much that I tore up another inner CV ...

I wasn't there, but I'll toss in my view since I helped fix the bearin on Chris's car. Seeing the course map really helped me decide not to go. I thought unless I am missing something, that looks kinda sucky. I'm glad I stayed home and wasn't wrong.

The old one was really fuxxored. that is an understatement. I thought we were going to do a Ron White/FS Camaro impersonation on the way to Dave's. " The wheel came off! it came the F*** OFF!!" it turned my stomach on every turn. Y'all have fun at the Subaru challenge. I'll be havin fun h...
