Re: Air cooled engine vs water cooled given a big freeze (Be

Oh...message to MarkP. David Beaman rebuilt the engine of The Thing when he had his shop over on Fox Rd. The engine went from 1600 to a little over. The oil cooler was installed. I had the frame for the soft top sandblasted and repainted. I ordered a new soft top. I had Lonnies over on Central make ...

For Sale

Just a little information here. The first owner of the 1998 RS 2.5 two door in black did not like the gold alloy wheels that the car came with. He ordered unstated chrome rims. He chucked the gold alloys immediately. For Sale: Four gold alloy OEM RS 2.5 five spoke rims...16" X 7" and 53 of...

Re: Chilhowee park and race course (story)

The bottom curve is really tricky at Chilhowee Park. You gain time on the upper end and pad seconds for the bottom where you have to back off to make the curve. You then make up for more time in acceleration and flat out for the finish line. Umm...did you know Frank? He was known as "Daddy Rabb...

Chilhowee park and race course (story)

Here you go. Local club racing A police car stopped on Magnolia Ave...watching for a while and then getting back into the car and going to cruise to check out other stuff. A Chevy Citation XII was on the course just a few minutes later. The XII went airboune over the fence and landed right where the...

Rocket 71....thank you for your comment. The 'story' is true. The Tennessee Valley is really weird about weather. Anti-freeze is dumped into a radiator given regular weather.

Air cooled engine vs water cooled given a big freeze (Beer

Just for you guys and gals here. In around 1983, Knoxville went in a deep freeze. The temps went down and even with anti-freeze, water cooled engines froze given about minus 23. The CRX doors were frozen shut. It was not going anywhere until it thawed out. Back-up Car for a beer run? The side oil co...

Re: T. C. Kline

Mark....what Walt did was supreme. When Gary Sawyer took my car to race, T.C. Kline took a magnet to the front end and looking for bondo! The Gemini raced well and then there was an accident late at night in 1988. The Gemini went airborne up past UT Hospital. It landed on its top in the roll and plo...

Re: T. C. Kline

Okay....just a bunch of looks. T.C. was a really nice guy. He was a tech inspector and also in charge of impound at Nationals. Just a personal experience here....I had a 911S - 1975. It came from Hawaii and was on the lot of the Old Knoxville Motor Company on Newcom Ave for sale in 1986. The guy who...
