Re: SOLD!!! - 1991 Honda CRX Auto-x/TT Car & Components

He's entered the car for Adesa but not in STS in STM. There's a reason for that. I like STM for the social aspect of it as a lot of my friends run in that class. We help each other out and such. Often enough, those 2 classes aren't in the same heat. Also plan to add a quick release and a new wheel ...

Re: ONE DAY BMS events

I think a lot of us would be more interested in 1 day BMS events over 2 days. Lucas and Cody would be big fans. Driving down both days is a big hassle. One day is pretty manageable.

Re: ETR Event #8

I thought the course was fresh and challenging. I enjoyed it a lot. I think the STM results are incorrect, unless Cody is pulling my leg about the 47.9. That may be a timing error. There were some issues with 2nd heat. I fixed the rest of them, but I forgot that one. I'll get it tonight. Cody told ...

Re: DAMN! Andrew Keisler's place burned (welding accident)

BTW, Josh McCoig has been working with him too. Andrew said anything helps and any work that they can do would be helpful. The news report is a little misleading. Keisler Automation is actually at a different location. They do machine work and build custom stuff there. For those that follow him on ...

Re: Smokies event # 3

How long are the Lemons teams getting out of their RS3's and ZII's? I'd say it's still significantly longer than RE71's, V720's, or the Rival S.

Re: Smokies event # 3

Neither do the Rival S as well. All 3 of these "special" 200TW tires are basically the Hoosier A6/A7 of street tires.

Re: Smokies event # 3

The Rival S is good for big cars because it comes in big sizes, unlike the RE71R. The Kumho V720 seems to be a very good tire. Besides John Brown in STS, John Smith uses them on his STR Miata and is doing pretty well. He should do even better when he finishes sorting the car and tuning the engine. ...

Re: Choice, choices...time for new tires!

The Kumho problem seems to happen on actual tracks, and not so much on autoX courses. None of the "special" 200TW's (RE71R, Rival S, V720) seem to really last on track even compared to 100TW race tires.. They're made for quick AutoX runs. It's almost like comparing them to Hoosier A7's and...

Re: **2016 Tire Rack Thunder Valley Showdown**

Charlie, I have a Sparco driver's seat. It's a Chrono Road, not a full race seat, but it has a lot more lateral support than the OEM seat. A full race seat shouldn't be that uncomfortable. Even in an autocross, it's probably distracting. People drive for hours in enduros in full race seats. https:/...

Re: **2016 Tire Rack Thunder Valley Showdown**

I just can't justify driving 1.5hrs each way and $80 for ~5 minutes of seat time. going back on Sunday is even less worth it (3 runs). The pax doesn't matter one way or the other; none of us are getting in the shootout regardless, which I've been saying all along. Waste of effort, sorry JY. I'm hop...

Re: Choice, choices...time for new tires!

I'm really considering the V720's this time around. The R1Rs were pretty good but I feel like 195s on an 8" are a bit stretched. You can get the V720s in a 225/15 for the same price of the 71r's in a 205/15. I wish JB wouldn't had put up a half second faster time when he switched form the V720...

Re: New to ETR SCCA

Borla stuff is well under. Whatever Marcus ran is over and some variations of the Tomei stuff is over. Any plans to switch wheels and tires? Those Z's seem to love squared 285's (or 275's) on 18x10.5's or 18x11's. Don't think you'd love 300TW stuff all that much when it's all said and done. That's p...
