Welcome Luke! You've picked the right chassis too. Based on your mods you will be in STR along with the Novice pax for your first event or so.
I wish NBs were in STS!

Re: Event 3 after action
Once they got up to temp I was seeing plaid the car was moving so quick. There was a section in the rear behind the fence where the car would catch air and I would need to catch 3rd gear. It was ridiculously difficult and put a shit-eat'n-grin on my face every time. I think course workers got their...

Re: Harness and harness bar
Another small piece with shoulder harnesses and a harness bar, guide clamps: https://www.discoveryparts.com/auto-racing-harness-mounting-hardware-/1835-harness-belt-guide-clamps-1-5-inch-ult-8005.html They'll help with lateral movement of your shoulder harnesses. I've unfortunately noticed bad spaci...

Re: Dixie National... the Official Thread.
180 runs on a big ole car can definitely point to some heat-cycled tires. Let me know if ever want a tire warmer at tours, James said your car was a riot, something like steering a big boat with your right foot or some such.

Re: Thanks for a well-run first event of the season!
Cathers is quick for sure, but I also think the car matches his driving style really well so it’s a deadly combo. I’m closing in on figuring that out... just need some practice at it, so watch out! Yeah I thought a vette matches his driving style really well too.... then I put him in my 130rwhp mia...

Here's my very optimistic list for the miata. Moving it on over to wheel-to-wheel duty, so a bunch of safety hardware is happening: -Custom 6-point cage w/ ~200* viewing inboard mirror setup -OMP HTE-R 400 seat -Custom Winning Formula seat mounts -OEM mazda rear hubs w/ new bearings and ARP studs -T...

Re: Newbie couple questions...
Welcome! +1 on a square setup. I ran 275/35/18 with 18x10.5s squared on my STU 350Z and it was pretty well balanced. Didn't have proper on throttle rotation until I installed an OSG LSD. Occasional push on entry with hotchkiss front & rear bars set at full soft each. Granted, my car was under-sp...

Re: Miata Peeps! Looking at 2003 Miata Shinsen, common issues?
I've done some research on diffs since mine is relatively useless as a LSD now. The MSM does have a torsen, it the same as a S2000 torsen, so you could use the MFactory LSD into your MSM torsen. Maybe 6spd was an option with the Shinsen or maybe that one was swapped? 5spd/4.3 is better for autox, an...
