Re: Spring Rates for my Protege

Diff came in today. Car goes to the shop Wednesday. Got a couple weeks to a month wait on the coilovers, but the car should be running and driving within the next two weeks. Hope to make it to at least a couple events this year. :? Shootin' for the Wild Bill Event, if not possible I may make it out ...

Re: RIP Carroll Shelby...

Very sad indeed. :(

My first two cars were Shelbys, not real Shelbys, but still awesome cars in my eyes. 1986 Dodge Charger Shelby, and a 1989 Dodge Daytona Shelby.

Re: Spring Rates for my Protege

They've already been ordered in 10k F 8k R. I'll probably be doing some experimenting over time to see what I like, though. I rode in a buddies car that has coilovers the other day, and that pushed me to go ahead and pull the trigger on the purchase. Felt so much more planted than my car. Can't wait...

Re: Spring Rates for my Protege

Thanks guys. Think I am going to start with the 450/550 rates to start off and see how I feel about it. I guess I should start looking for some places to get cheap springs.

Spring Rates for my Protege

So while the car is down (blown diff) I've decided to do a couple other things. One of those things is coilovers (deciding between BC and Fortune Auto right now), and I am totally confused about spring rates. Almost all the coilover setups I've seen for autocross in my car are set up with a stiffer ...

Well now it looks like I'm out due to work obligations. :(

I'll probably still come out to watch after I get done though.

Re: Who's ready for ETR#1?

^^^^ This is why I am running street tires at this first one. I'm ready, and excited. Just got some small things fixed up on the car yesterday. Gonna try and reinstall the mudflaps in a more permanent manner today after work, then she should be good to go. Really can't wait to just show up and run a...

Re: Anybody gonna run D stock this year?

Have to ask Rife, I don't care what you do. I don't get the point in moving out of a contested class and into an uncontested class. Aside from that, we haven't had an autocross is a while and everyone is bored . I am not contesting. That's the point really. I'm just glad at least one person doesn't...

Re: Anybody gonna run D stock this year?

BTW, Joe, the Surf analogy is a pretty good one from where you're coming from. I've been close to that mentality the last year or two with my class orphans, but I've missed running in situations where there's actual pressure. I guess these guys don't understand the real meaning of a soul-surfer. Fu...

Re: Anybody gonna run D stock this year?

Any one know what class I can run in besides sm?LOL See this is part of my point of going to DSP. My car is not in the same class as yours at all if we were in prepared classes. Why would we compete in SM? Your car makes a million horsepower, and has 5x the money in it that mine has. Mine makes 200...
