Re: Auto Auction Today

Yep, it drove tighter than I thought it would - even after a few runs. Wish I could have gotten more grip but those temps and the clouds conspired against that. I did finally drop half a second on my 6th run by staying tighter but I didn't want to go slower ! Hopefully the weather will hold out for ...

Re: Petit Le Mans - Road Atlanta

Went last year for the Grand Am race and you definitely have to get to Spectator Hill early and camp out on the side facing the Esses, as Jed said. When you get tired of watching from there, it's a 100 yd walk over to see them come out of turn 7 then under the bridge on the back straight. The comple...

Re: Finally......

Great racing out there. Wish our cars hadn't broken quite so much, but we did have a blast out there!

Re: What now?

I've driven an RSX S-type and cannot recommend it. It was truly a bizarre car to drive and it already has 1200 lb springs on the rear and still wouldn't rotate. We tried lots of things in that car, from stiffer and stiffer springs to different tire sizes. My lasting memory of it was from Devens in 2...

Re: ★★★★LINCOLN 2014★★★★

I did a full write-up on my site if anyone is interested. Covers all of the ProSolo Finale and Solo Nats T/W. The quick summary: it was a good trip and it was great to be in contention for the Pro and finishing 4th, missing third by 1 point, is not bad for my first whole-hog run at the schedule. Nat...

Re: ★★★★LINCOLN 2014★★★★

I'll reserve final judgment until I walk them, but East looks crazy fast and the West does not. That West finish should be interesting.

Re: When are you leaving for nationals?

I'm starting out on Wednesday evening - 27 August to make it for the Pro Finale and Nats. If anyone is interested in coming along, please let me know. Starting back probably Wednesday evening again. Have to be back for work on Friday.

John Brown wrote:... I hope National courses are good.. but not very likely since a high ranking SCCA lady said to get used to it.. not likely to change. :? that statement indicates that they know exactly what they are doing.. its not accidental.
Kind of exactly what I said.

Re: new direction?

1200 in Lincoln shouldn't be a problem. Did that at Heartland Park.

BM cars were apparently at 84 mph on the back "straight" both days. I topped out at 77 on Sunday.

Re: new direction?

I'll say from a karter's perspective that absolutely the courses are becoming less technical and much more HP courses than they used to be. When I finish 129th in PAX at Wilmington, there's something wrong. While both courses were fast and fun, the slaloms were not at all challenging, with nearly id...

I must come over to your house sometime - I drive by it every weekend.

STM to play with the most folks. SSM to play with Bradley.

Re: ★★★★LINCOLN 2014★★★★

A good idea, JY. I might bring my little grill for lunchtime stuff - dinners at Grandma's house for me...

Where did all y'all get paddocked? I'm all the way in the front where I like it - and with most of the other karters.
