Re: July Fasttracks
370s in STU would kill off the 350s in STU The 370 is the same weight in ST* trim, lots more power(330-340rwhp/300-320tq), and with the same wheel/tires.....
They are getting pretty inexpensive though! If they follow the trend of the 350 they'll continue to drop in the price.

Re: BMS ETR#5
It was great to be back out there and to see everyone! I really like BMS a lot more than Smokies site, hah. Lots of time left out there for me since I was getting faster after each run. It's a shame I coned every single run, lol.

Re: WTB 15" R7 tires.
R7s for autox? I've about spun-out 3-4 times while warming up my 205 R7s on my 2400lb miata during warm-up laps. I could only imagine how.... fun(?) they'd be for autox  I only have 205/50/15 R7s, the current scrubs are spoken for, but I might have some later on in the season. FYI: SM uses S...

Re: miata mechanic
Jason Chapman has been doing quite a bit of miata work locally. Though, I think he's slowing down with it since other things have started to consume his time. I'll ask him to come check this thread.

Re: Need race crew
+1 for ViR I really like the track.
I'd like to double-dip into ITS or STL and run SCCA events end of this year or sometime next year. Of course both ITS and STL rules are annoying(typical SCCA knick-picking) so I'll probably end up in EP.

Think you'll ever get out to the track? OGracing typically has some decent deals on close-out models - http://www.ogracing.com/closeout/shoes

Re: Miata wheel bearings
So the spindle nut was loose or there's some play in the bearing? Spindle nut torque is: 123 - 159 lb-ft. Once torqued you'll tap an indention into the slot on the spindle. Here's some long threads over miata bearings/hubs: http://www.miataturbo.net/race-prep-75/tapered-roller-bearing-hubs-its-happe...

Re: 1st autocross event. Question about class
Thanks everyone! Very helpful. Sounds like STM is a possibility but the exhaust might kick me out. The catalytic converter was removed a long time ago, and I don't want to hack up my current exhaust system to install one. Rotaries REALLY don't like restrictive exhaust anyways. If the springs are a ...

Re: 1st autocross event. Question about class
Welcome! Your car is actually legal for STR (Street Touring Roadster). You'll still be competing against newer miatas and even s2000s, but the prep level is a lot more straight forward than CSP. Particularly, STR is limited to 200 tw "street" tires such as Bridgestone RE71R, BFG Rival-S, H...
