Re: New-to-me miata to autocross

In the miata club we would gather around a "virgin" car, brand new to its owner and suggest mods. First, you pull the teeth, then do an intake, then............

I dont know what your participation numbers are so far but you may want to post a reminder to vote on the various threads. Not everyone looks on the Announcement page.

Re: Shipping an engine

Back in the day, SCCA Enterprises shipped me several Sports Renault engines bolted to the pallet. Nothing further. I would think that the end user would appreciate more packing in the shipping process so wrapped and strapped would be better but not necessary.

Re: My plans next year. All members should read.

Chris, racing is not a requirement for the office of RE. Leadership ability, commitment to ETR and SCCA, and common sense are requirements. The very things that make good drivers actually impede the RE's ability to do a good job. It has always been my opinion that you have the talents to be an RE an...

Re: ADESA - DRIVING TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE 2012 - OFFICIAL THR

Thanks to everyone who came and helped make this a special event. I havent heard any numbers from UW but everyone involved was happy with the day and already talking about how to make next year even better. Now I just got to find the weather steward and have a few words with him/her.

Re: UW/Adesa Ride-a-long drivers

Thanks guys. I will make me a list of this thread and get it to Chris. ETR will try to place as many as possible in the first run group but you may be assigned to a later group depending on numbers of entrants, etc. What should happen is UW will start sending us riders around 10:30am and I will star...

Re: UW/Adesa Ride-a-long drivers

Thanks guys. Like it or not, the people respond to the fantasy cars and rides. I will make a list and try to get you assigned to the first run group so that you can then give rides thru the rest of the day as you can. Dont feel like you need to overdo it. I think that 5 rides each should do it. Save...

UW/Adesa Ride-a-long drivers

I do need some volunteers to help give ride-a-longs at Adesa. No real requirements other than the ability to make a consistent run and be verbal with your guests. Depending on the number of volunteers, you will drive your runs with your class and then be available to give rides. UW volunteers will b...

Re: ADESA - DRIVING TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE 2012 - OFFICIAL THR

I do need some ride-a-long volunteers. Essentially after you have made your SCCA class runs, you would then take paying guests for rides. A great way to get some track time and promote SCCA. It is my plan to take riders from the beginning but I will need other drivers to step up and volunteer your c...

Re: ADESA - DRIVING TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE 2012 - OFFICIAL THR

No, you can take it home and do the engine swap. Tires will be marked and you will receive your arm band. Your crew can register that nite or there will be a list at entry to the site on Sat morning. No one gets on the site without either being on the list or paying the parking/spectator fee.

Re: ADESA - DRIVING TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE 2012 - OFFICIAL THR

As a specific answer to Rife's question, if you want inside the fence, you will need to register your car or find a registrant who has room on his or her crew list.

Re: ADESA - DRIVING TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE 2012 - OFFICIAL THR

Let me try to explain: There will be one crew member allowed plus the driver for each entry. so no additional fee There will be $5 fee for each car(no matter the number of occupants) that enters the site. Each person will sign the insurance waiver and receive the appropriate arm band. There will be ...

I found mine in a garage, not a barn. I just acknowledged the obvious that modern cars are so much faster than 25yo cars. I probably need the parts car too.

Re: Live at 5 at 4

I road raced for over 20 yrs and was able to NEVER do the math on what it cost me in time and money. I guess it is just a sign that I am getting older that I resent standing in the sun now for a car.
