I was nominated for the Spirit of Mazda Award
You just thought you were finished seeing campaign adds!!!! I just noticed that someone has nominated me for the "Spirit of Mazda" award. I don't have much to offer in the form of campaign promises and I'm sure all my "opponents" are just as (if not more so) deserving than I am. ...

Re: Nov. Fast Track
I tend to think if you cant go over 1/4 throttle considering the amount of tire you have, the weight of the car and a low 500hp range....I'd say thats an issue. I'm within 50 hp of that, weigh way less and have 35+% less tire on the ground

Re: Nov. Fast Track
It's a balancing act. Horsepower for sure is an area of diminishing marginal returns. I would imagine with the amount of tire you run, putting down 610 HP would be more than possible. I dunno what your car pulls in a straight line in 2nd gear, but unless it's close to .9g I would say you aren't out ...

Re: Huntsville Sunday
I ended up with FTD in a borrowed car (52.5 something) that takes more mental bandwith than my car. I have NEVER shifted so much. It made things MUCH more challenging and rewarding when you got it right....but I gained a whole new respect for the BSP Mazdaspeed Guys. That section by the ditch was a ...

Re: National Survey
Well....there was 6" of water in places on that course on Tuesday.
Jeff Kiesel DNF'ed his first run on the East course because his car finally decided to turn 50' after he gave it a steering input.

Re: 2018 Nationals
And PAX results from this years Nationals mean nothing. Randall paxed 311th, there are people in the top 25 who had never trophied at Nationals before.
The weather played such a major role in the outcomes.....you really can't use that as a measuring stick for the event.

Re: 2018 Nationals
I actually like both courses. I'm not a huge fan of "Top speed on the limiter" type courses. The thrill of Solo doesn't lie in top speed....and my car is sub 5:1 power to weight range. All 3 of us were on the limiter in second gear (74.3 MPH) for the last 3 cones of the slalom on the "...
