I almost hit a (relatively small) bear on my motorcycle once. I was up on 421 and came around a blind corner to see a mama bear and her 3 cubs crossing the road. I managed to get stopped before I plowed into them, but the whole time I was thinking "Will my racing leathers stop bear claws?"...
