Re: STI/WRX Owners Beware (oil pickup tube)
I wonder what causes that? The typical Subaru drivetrain shudder over time?

Re: 2014 SEDive Time Trials Schedule
So, for SCCA, on the Road-Course TT events (not the hillclimbs...which I understand), I gather they still require a cage/hoop, harnesses, etc?

Re: STM to 200tw?
1) Definitely not in favor of any change before 2015 2) I really don't care between 140 and 200 since I go through tires fairly quickly 3) If you are to the point of buying tires specifically to win STM, that person should really consider prepping for a national class and running some tours, lol Hon...

Re: Chris Oakley in the hospital
Yeah, that's about where I've landed with it. After my first few trips to a legitimate racetrack, it just lost its allure. Any time I go up there, good sense dictates that I leave so much on the table that I end up not going quick enough for it to be fun. I go years between trips, and although I've ...

Re: Laguna Seca, Saturday 12/21 Trackday
Sweet, definitely share.
I'd like to see if a road trip could work out for me next year to get the NSX on a couple of tracks out that way like Laguna or Infineon.

Re: A-X car thoughts...
Yeah, the 3-hash bolts (not a typo, there are three steps of crash bolt, denoted by the number of hash marks on the head, 3 hash marks = most aggressive) one in each corner gave -1.5 or so degrees. Bolt pattern is 5x114.3 stock offsets are ~+45 IIRC.

Re: A-X car thoughts...
I had Koni Yellows, but they went with the car when I sold it early in the year. They were not the custom double fronts like RC had on his car.John Brown wrote:Hey Richard, what dampers you use..and are they any good?

Re: A-X car thoughts...
LMK if you get that thing (or if you don't for that matter). I've got some NIB bushings and random maintenance bits left over from my 'Turbo. Also, if you need a co-driver......... lol.

the 14" MR2 wheels were 6F and 7R" wide. I assume that's the same for the 15" wheels for the 93+ cars.

Re: 2014 RTP/PAX
I think the crucial point here is that PAX is designed to handicap groups of CARS, not drivers......and specifically THE car in the group that is dominant in that group when prepped to the limit of the rules, and driven by ostensibly the best driver in the group. Take out any of those qualifiers (TH...

Re: Data acquisition
From a driver development perspective, I think Data would be useful for autocross if you could have throttle/brake traces synched to video (so you could see steering/gear inputs). That would let you really take a hard look at your habits, and if you were someone with less experience letting a hot-sh...
