I haven't seen anything about helpers. Are you guys looking for volunteers to shag cones and such or do you have that covered?

Re: Thoughts on a new car...
I bought a new GTI about 18 months ago. Probably my favorite car ever as a daily driver. I did not get DSG but my wife's wagon has it. The stick is sweet too.

My half-ass prepped STR car sucks on the street. If I had to drive it everyday I would probably just walk.steverife wrote:I don't know if you drive yours on the street, but an STR car probably makes for a pretty good street car.

Re: Setting Miata Ride Height
My data points aren't going to be very useful. I don't have my 6ULs yet so I'm sitting on 6" wheels with a regular street tire. As it sits, my front is at 4.25". I made the last change to stop the rubbing at the Adesa event and I only changed the front so my rake is gone. Fwiw, I was rubb...

Re: Setting Miata Ride Height
Dave, why is the ride height so critical? Are you trying to get a certain camber value? Do you have adjustable A-arms? I venture to guess it is a suspension geometry thing. The ride height adjusts the a arm angles into their happy place. It is easier to measure than putting the arms at a particular...

Re: Setting Miata Ride Height
I'll be back this weekend & will post my measurements then. My last change was made in the parking lot at Adesa last year by counting turns. I haven't measured it since.

Re: Setting Miata Ride Height
That's definitely lower than where I was able to run. The Altobelli's were able to go lower than me so there could be some significant variation even amongst '99's. I could make the front end rub in any empty lot but I really couldn't tell the rear was too low until I got to an autox where the car b...

Re: Setting Miata Ride Height
When I tried to use Emillio's setup, I was down on the rear bump stops almost all the time and rubbing in the front. I measured from the pinch welds. I wound up raising the car close to 0.5" from what he has published on his web site. I can double check the actual heights when I get back in town.
