Re: We got a new toy

ohhhhhhhhhh....

I'm willing to bet someone a good chunk of $ that it will never happen.

MAYBE 1 time just to see what it does, but I doubt even that. All seasons, no fancy Diff, etc... not really interested in trying it.

Re: We got a new toy

Thanks everyone. This thing is really something. Still trying to get on enough miles to clear the break-in procedure but we're 1/2 way there now. Drove it around town last night and stopped by Chateau Pilson to show them and so on.

We got a new toy

Well, We managed to keep it mostly a secret until the very end. Kim and I bought a 2021 Corvette Coupe yesterday and brought her home. Put the deposit down back in June and our allocation came up available in December. With all the plant shutdowns and parts shortages, it took about 4 weeks longer to...

Re: Looking for a car

Mine had 115k on it and I hadn't done the springs yet ( but had bought them ) and it sounded like it needed the balancer done ( i'm guessing on that one ). @ 108K I did the rear main seal, the diff rebuild, torque tube rebuild with new bushings, clutch w/master and slave done with remote bleeder, oi...

Re: Looking for a car

High miles don't always mean sketchy on a C5 though. Maintenance on them is key. I'd rather buy one with 80-100K miles on it that was maintained than a 25K mile garage queen. big things on the C5 ( in my experience ) Valve springs Harmonic balancer torque tube bushings and bolts ( mine @ 98K miles w...

Re: Looking for a car

Scott Also.. you mention you want to DD the car? A pointy end car in any of these classes MIGHT not result in a comfy drive...lol I think I know of the car mark's talking about on the book of faces... I might have checked it out 5-6 times this week.. As far as fitment... think you need to hop into s...

Re: Looking for a car

Early C6s ( 2006 and maybe 2007 ) didn't have bluetooth at all IIRC. I know the 2006 didn't have steering wheel controls for sure. No C5's had bluetooth capability C5Z is an amazing car. I miss mine terribly. The downsides of those are that parts are getting harder to come by, and older parts gettin...

Re: Event 1

I really enjoyed my first autocross events this weekend! Thanks to everyone for putting this on. I think I am hooked now. When and where will information be posted and registration available for the school in April? Are you talking about the ETR driving school or an evo school that ETR is hosting? ...

Re: Help me class my Cayman Please

for the record... you don't HAVE to run slicks in SP classes. If you're at a national level event and NOT on slicks... yeah that's a beat down usually. Locally, there's not many SP cars and you might not have anyone in the class against you anyway. STM is the ETR catch all for cars on street tires a...

Looks like I might actually be going to this one. Dan ( my usual SSR co-driver that has a car ) texted me asking if I want to go.

Re: Newb Novice questions and car class help

With COVID restrictions, I'm guessing this will be modified but in the past... You would have a person like me ( someone who's been doing it a while ) mentoring you and showing you what to do. Ride along with you and give you pointers on how to approach the course, how to read the 'sea of cones' and...
