My car is in SM b/c of subframe connectors, the rest of my mods are fairly minor (and ESP legal). If you and anyone else who plans to run it, I'd be happy to join you all in ESP next year... Actually, we did something similar to that the year I ran in EP. I talked to my competitors about the fact t...

That requires non-"race" tires. I think he's wanting to compete in FS trim.

Bump to the next higher class and keep your car prepared the same. I used to bump my car (FSP car) to EP and this year went to SM. Robert used to bump the CRX to either CSP or EP. Your FS car would bump to ESP or CP. I'm sure they wouldn't mind the competition and it will make you a faster driver.

OUCH! If that was a Neon (or equivalent) that hit you, he must have been moving at a pretty good clip. Looks like he was aiming for you.

Like Dave Dillow, I asked about buying the car back after I had given up on getting a fair settlement.

Insurance co: "It's an $800 car."

Irritated car owner: "No, it WAS and $800 car before I added $2000 worth of new parts and mods."

BTW, if you guys are serious about the 6 speed or other parts, you can usually buy the car back from the insurance company if you ask. Sometimes you get a really good deal that way, sometimes not. I bought my wrecked '78 Scirocco back for $100, if I remember correctly. Apples and oranges, I know, bu...

The only time I've flat spotted mine (or Robert's  ) is when I tried stopping too agressively in a straight line. In a spin, I've always made a conscious effort to stay off the brakes (wheels locked = no control--not that you have much when you are spinning anyway).

Since they are in the same rulebook, I would be surprised if it just applied to Solo I.

If you have ABS you can't flat spot them. Don't worry about flat spots on any tire for your car. The Hoosier A3S04 is more consistent than the old A3S03 that many of us have run on. It is also heavier and more resistant to flat spots but that won't matter for this thread. The V700 is a good tire tha...

Last time I read the Solo I rules, all you needed was a roll bar. That's been a while, though.

I would strongly suggest buying the Hoosiers that Mark has for sale if they will fit your car. With the money you would save you could buy two more if you cord a couple of them before the season is over. Plus if Mark's previous posts are any indication, he is willing to wheel and deal. :lo...

I'm thinking it sounds more like the stuff they do with the trucks outdoors. The racing you see sometimes on Speed Channel sanctioned by CORR comes to mind.
