I did a search last year for the best price on Optima batteries and ended up buying from Pep Boys. They were much less than the other dealers. Seems as though we got the big one for $110 or so, although that was last year. Might be worth a call. The battery is a 34/37.

Mark, you are correct unless it is a gel cell such as an Optima. The positive terminal has to be insulated whether a gel cell or not.

Joining the SCCA gives you membership in ETR. You can join on the SCCA site, or call them and be sure to identify our region.

Also, I believe that we waive the first autocross fee for new members. Don't hold me to that, but ask at registration at the first event.
