Re: 2001 Celica GT (solo GS)

Ok, I know you and I talked briefly about it @ the last event I was at, but wasn't sure.

It sounds like more than a few people are thinking along those lines as well if you believe their talk on RRAX.

Good luck with the sale. It seems like a good deal.

Re: 2001 Celica GT (solo GS)

????

This is a shock to me. When you say "time to do something else", do you mean a different car/class, or something other than autocross?

Good luck with the sale

Re: May Fastrack

Cool thing is if I get tried of STR for some reason and these rules pass, I'll slap some street tires on the 99 and run c-stock :-D. Class changes are the next thing to come. Just be prepared. Yes, and anyone that thinks they wouldn't... well that's just silly... lol This will be a 'game changer' f...

Re: May Fastrack

lol

He's the only guy I personally know that has done it, and I always make it a point to comment about it. If Robert had driven both days @ that event, the guy would've missed a trophy spot but he only drove Saturday.

BTW... one of these days @ an event I'll actually have to figure out who you are.

Re: May Fastrack

I don't see the problem. It is a class legal, underprepped car. It is your job to beat it. The STC/STX Civic thing was nice because it let people defer expenses and bring their friends to nats. I ran as an STXtra at nats twice when I probably would have stayed at home if friends didn't help me out....

Re: May Fastrack

oh yeah... I think that's complete BS. I know that was rampant in ST for a while... the same car ran in 2 different classes. I don't agree with that at all. That being said, if the car is under prepped for a class and runs in it, should that person be chastised for doing well in it? ASP car fully pr...

Re: May Fastrack

All I am saying is if scca is making a road tire front wheel drive and a road tire rear wheel drive and a road tire awd what is the difference between those classes and other classes. that's just it... they are effectively doing away with those classes with the new rule sets. For now it sounds like...

Re: May Fastrack

yes, fair enough. I still don't see them making classes across the board to dump RWD,FWD,AWD on their own. STF and SMF are odd enough on their own. I understand it... the cars are at a huge disadvantage compared to RWD/AWD cars, but that's no different than stock classes with many cars in the same c...

Re: May Fastrack

Well, they HAVE addressed that to some extent...

STF, SMF

That being said, they took allot of cars out of SM and ST when they made SSM ( SM2 ) and STS ( STS2 ) to balance out the 2 seaters from the 4 seaters.

Re: May Fastrack

Well, what I'm saying is that other AWD cars are probably significantly above or below the performance envelope of the 2011-2013 WRX. Let's see STi EVO Audi (is the DS one quattro?) Impreza That's really about it. Maybe some Porsche's, but those would be up the ladder as well. Yes, the regular ( no...

Re: May Fastrack

Well, Sam's already said repeatedly that if it went thru as v1 stated that he wouldn't run the GS in SS and would possibly leave the sport altogether. He has done SP and doesn't enjoy high HP cars on street tires. I'm not putting words in his mouth just paraphrasing what he's said in person and also...

Re: May Fastrack

exactly... the stock class rules are pretty damned clear cut as they are. New people don't ever come up to me and say " I can't understand these rules ". I have more people talk about how dumb the ST/SP/SM rules are about what they can and can't do. our tire index has more SP/SM cars in it...
