Re: October 8th RallyX #6

Do your courses tend to get a lot of ruts? I'm thinking about bringing a very inappropriate car out to this event, probably with snow tires. I'm a bit marginal on ground clearance at the moment. How much ground clearance do you need for the typical courses?

Re: Regional #10 Smokies Stuff

Not one of my better events of the year. Car started out undrivable despite no setup changes for a few months. After getting the front shocks adjusted down about half the range it was good again for the last run. I think I may be entering the Kuhmo's third phase of life or something.

Re: C6 Z06 Info

John, any chance you'll be at the event Sunday? I'd love to chat with you about it and check it out if you bring it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I'll be at the event on Sunday, but I'll be running in STR, probably in my miata. Gotta get points event #7 for STR finished up. Depending on the w...

Re: C6 Z06 Info

I just bought a 2008 C6 Z06 this summer with intent to run in AS next year. The biggest issue with the cars is in the heads. General consensus is you probably need to be checking the valves every 5-10k miles as far as I can tell. The heads weren't all machined with things exactly lined up and that c...

Re: Regional Points #10 Chiefs Check In

Not sure if this is the right place, but 5 & 6 years ago I used to do timing up in the Indy region. Not sure what system you all use, but if you need more people on timing I can relearn.

Re: ONE DAY BMS events

I'm ok with about 12 one day events at Bristol next year  I skipped the two day event at Pelli because it would've been 7 hours in the car, earplugs and all, and I'm not a fan of hotel rooms for local events. I understand coming from the other side not wanting to double day it. Bristol is onl...

Re: New pelli sound limit

Any thoughts on making pelli courses ones where cars won't be routinely banging up on the rev limiter?

Re: ETR Event #8

I did correct the camber for the tires to achieve proper tire temps across the tread. I've changed tire pressures also. Just seems to eat the center no matter what I do. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk That's interesting. Mine did have what appeared to be a graining day on like the second or thi...

Re: ETR Event #8

My MSM weighed in at 2500 pounds with a hardtop and without me in it.... Also, I have to run around 21 psi with my v720's (225 on 15x9) and still the wear mark is above the triangle indicators! Check your camber. Mine got faster and better wear with less camber than I could achieve. 3 degrees didn'...

Re: ETR Event #8

I was running 26f/ 25r with good results but high tire wear to center. I've went back up to 28/27 but I think I've lost some traction. Wear has improved somewhat. I think my car is around 2550? Is that the weight without you in it? I knew the MSM model added weight but wow. Mine is 2240 without me ...

Re: ETR Event #8

JOhn Smith I run 24/24 or 25/25 on my STS car. Im thinking your too low of pressure which raises the temps faster. My car weighs 1960 lbs. You may want to go up to 28psi square. I also run 225's..are you ? At the Bristol events I ran pressures around both front and rear. The front seems to be best ...

Re: ETR Event #8

Im with John Smith. I think it was too hot for the Kumho's. After my second run I lost the bite on the track and started losing a tenth each run. Loved the course Mark. Very different and challenging. Thanks After Lin and I took our first runs on the RE71's... I was amazed how slick and un predicta...

Re: ETR Event #8

I think my kuhmo's went over their temperature limit in the third run group. I drove poorly on the first two runs with a massive drift on my second run and the tires just stuck less every run from 3rd runs on. I think I needed some ice in the sprayer.
