Re: rent or borrow a trailer for the Z06... Peru tour and na

How wide is a Z06 from outside of tire to outside of tire? My trailer is kind of narrow. Our Geo barely fits on it. I don't really plan to go to Peru or Nationals. I'd have to double check that I don't have a need for it those days.

Re: From SCCA National - No Drones

Property owners own the first 450 ft of airspace above their property, so someone could claim trespassing. Now, if they're over 450ft, it's up to the FAA to enforce it. That is highly unlikely to happen. How could we even determine elevation of an aircraft? There are so many problems with enforcing ...

Re: From SCCA National - No Drones

So, can I fly my RC-controlled multi-rotor copter at an event as long as I stay off of the course? I had fully intended to do some aerial video at an event sometime. Sounds like that might be out of the question now. In general, I don't think we have much to worry about. It's by far the exception th...

Re: Pipe Bender?

You might have some trouble with it only being 7" long. You wouldn't have much left to hold on to at either end. At 20 degrees of angle, I bet you wouldn't get too much crush using a typical "crush" bender.

Re: Driving suggestions: Thru Nashville or Lex and Louisvill

Nashville isn't as bad as Atlanta...usually. Especially since you're going to the north side of Nashville, I wouldn't be too concerned. There will definitely be increased traffic, and you'll take a little more time to get through. But, you shouldn't expect any stop/go unless there is an accident. Al...

I see this car a lot since I drive past the guy's house several times per day. It does look pretty good. Exhaust is kind of loud though for daily duty. Looks like a good deal for someone wanting to be competitive with little effort (mechanically).

Re: Need 1/4" ID Pipe Bead Rolled ASAP

I'd be surprised if anyone around here could TIG that without partially or fully obstructing the fluid path. Since it's stainless, you could probably weld it without using any fill rod. If you blend it together, there should be no obstruction inside the tube. ^^Opinion of someone that is not a weld...

The first step of the double flare looks basically like what you're showing there.

Re: Need 1/4" ID Pipe Bead Rolled ASAP

For coolant, you'd probably be fine without a bead at all. A hose clamp on smooth pipe would be plenty. Your coolant system is probably pressurized to 14 psi. The largest cross section of the fluid at the joint is the OUTSIDE diameter of the tube. At 5/16", that's .077 square inches cross secti...

Needing a Water Temp Gage

Anyone have an extra water temp gage laying around for a reasonable price? We need a new one for the Geo. The current one is only visible at night, and we mostly don't race at night.
