It was a '97 that broke (the one I was driving). He had replaced the hubs 3 days earilier with ones he bought at a local parts store. After seeing that, I would suggest Genuine GM Parts for new hubs. I'll bet they aren't cheap, though. This is the first Camaro failure I have seen or heard of but I d...

Too bad about your ride Mark. Kind of an expensive three runs. Did you start drinking earlier on Sunday? Technically, it was 11 runs. 7 on the crappy practice course on Friday, 3 on Saturday, and 1 on Sunday before the other driver had the failure. I finished the runs on Sunday in a '01 (I think) C...

Hmm, that sounds like fun. I'll have to see if I can work something out on scheduling. I might be going to the Divisional the weekend after which would take priority if I do well in Nashville.

Back From Peru

Congrats to Carpenter for his first National Tour victory in the Miata. McCrary "competed" and came in 2nd. Looked like a tough class. I think they are both a little more excited about the car these days. John Brown came in a very close 2nd with everyone that should be fast in Topeka makin...

I hear they install tires too, just allow a week for them to get them on the wheels.

Scott is right though, done correctly, a home alignment is as cheap as they get.

MarkP - OK. Do you have a recommendation on temperature targets? I know the goal is to have them as even as possible across the whole tread, but what is the proper temperature range? If you know of a (relatively) economical probe type device, you might save me some search time. Thanks I don't know ...

Good to see they took care of you on it. The only real way to get the proper air pressures is with a pyrometer. Some experienced drivers can do it based on wear and feel but the pyrometer is the best method. When you get one, get a "probe" type. The infared ones are convenient but the prob...

I think most of the replies on SCCA Forums are probably reasonable. I took a look at the link to the pictures. I wonder if some of the most recent comment about tire pressures might be something to pursue. In the past, I have seen some tires cord in that same area due to a tire pressure issue. What ...

I have also had a lot of luck with Matlock on Kingston Pike in Farragut. John Brown @ Ted Russell Ford Parkside has also helped several of us out.

The only places you can buy Kumho competition tires, that I am aware of, are Vilven and Tire Rack.
