I'm not really worried about getting the wrong tire
That's good since you did. Get Toyos and there's not much learning to do. In all fairness, the 'Kooks aren't a BAD tire but IMHO they're not the BEST tire.

Highlands Sports Car Club, Triad Sports Car Club, Tarheel Sports Car Club and Smokey Mountain PCA all come to mind. None of these are SCCA affiliated but I've run with all of them in the past and they all do great events.

I'd vote for DIY if you're not too particular about perfect results. Add to the ol' skill-set.

Glad to hear you're making progress. Here's hoping that we'll get to see it perform before the end of 2011.

Re: where to buy???????????? 2-1/4 10" springs...

I don't think anybody makes a 2.25" spring in 10" length. The longest I can find is 9". I know Koni makes an adapter to fit a 2.5" spring on a 2.25" seat. Maybe something like that could help?

You can't drive flatout in a POS Miata that might burst into flames at any minute. That's a proven rumor on teh intarwebs.

Re: Very slick today BE CAREFUL

You guys should see the crazy stuff I have to drive in at 5am to get to work. Haven't had a chance to take pics of the 6" or so on the roads but luckily I have something that gets me around OK in it.

I need a worthy Mazda pilot. My tire warmers may not do the trick. :(
If I had the cash for it I'd be tempted to take ya up on that. Isn't there some local guy that's like, a professional at drivin' a Mazda?
