Zmax is owned by same folks who own Bristol. The lot doesn't come free. Gotta pay to play on that pavement.steverife wrote:Why is the entry fee a million dollars?

Maybe I've been spoiled by all the national sites that I've ran, but I don't get the love affair with that place at all.
The drive is awful. The grip is meh. And you might get killed by a stray golf ball.

Zmax cost 3500.00 a day and in my car for a asphalt lot, the grip is awwwwwwsom. The drive does have some hard pulls for a 2 car trailer, but shouldn't be that bad on a car driving over.

I'm a pretty big fan of ZMax. I think the extra cost and travel is worth it. My car typically has more grip there than any other venue I've been to.

zMax is sub-2 hr drive for me..... I love the place lol.
I'll be there in July(same weekend as Chillowee, sorry). The Z will have the new OSG in, new Konis, and finally on RE71Rs. James is running with me too, looking forward to it!

It is mostly awful because I would have to leave at 3 or 4 in the morning. I'm willing to do that for a Sunday event in Atlanta because I can run both sessions.

I would just wait until the local, but I just want to see if my car is autocrossable.Mark McCrary wrote:I am honestly thinking I am not doing anything till Wilmington. Thats a crazy long time. lol

Totally understand that Steve, as I will have to break in the new rear diff with some highway miles before autoxing it also when it gets done this weekend.

Hello,
Looking for an auto-x "fix" this weekend?
If so, consider the Highlands Sports Car Club's (HSCC) event on Saturday, the 18th in Franklin, NC. Typically 10-12 runs on a smooth four acre blacktop surface. No trophies, only season championship points. Visitors welcome! Details available at HSCCCLUB.com or motorsportsreg.com.
