Event Schedule Event Chair (Jeff Cox)

August 6th & 7th 2016
Bristol Motor Speedway Bristol, TN

This is a two-day Southeast Divisional Solo Championship Event to crown the 2016 SEDiv CHAMPION. This will also be counted as ETR points event #7. ETRSCCA and the Southeast Division are working to offer you a tiny taste of what national competition might feel like, on a NATIONAL COURSE but in a much more fun and laid-back atmosphere.

Timing and Scoring

This event will be scored differently than your typical autocross. We will be using a "RallyCross" scoring method. This means that your entire cumulative time across Saturday and Sunday competition will decide the SEDiv 2016 Champion. You will receive one drop run on Saturday, and one drop run on Sunday. A DNF will be a 10 second penalty, but only if you rejoin the course beginning with the element you missed. If you do not finish the course in it's entirety (mechanical issue, for example), you will be given the slowest time in class, plus 10 seconds, for that run.

Event Schedule (Subject to change) as information becomes available

Saturday August 6th
7:00AM - 8:30AM Registration and Tech
7:00AM - 8:45AM: Course open for walking
7:45AM: Novice meeting and walkthroughs begin
9:00AM: Driver's Meeting, Review of rules
9:45AM: First Car Off
9:45AM-4:30PM: Competition runs (NOTE: the end time is flexible. You will get a minimum of 4 runs.)
5:00PM: Course adjustement and welcome party begin (course should be open for walking later in the evening)
Sunday August 7th

7:00AM - 8:45AM: Course open for walking
7:45AM: Novice meeting and walkthroughs begin
9:15AM: First Car Off
9:15AM - 4:00PM Competition runs (NOTE: the end time is flexible. You will get a minimum of 4 runs.)
4:15 - TROPHIES (Stick around even if you didn't run too well, you might just win something!)

That is what I was thinking the strategy must be. Also seems like any coned run you must still try to salvage in case you have an even worse run later on.

Honestly, to me this way is more fun than the one run winner takes all. You get 4 or 5 runs each day and all runs but one count, so you get one drop run per day.

Need our ETR members full support for this event. Starting to get feedback from other regions Central Carolina, Atlanta, Tennessee and Tennessee Valley Regions and are having local events or making the trip to Blytheville ProSolo and not able to make SEDiv this year.

Looks like the event will happen no matter the final numbers. The question is really how much of a hit we will take based on the costs involved.

There's a big drift shindig the weekend before this event. Would it be beneficial to show up and promote the event some? Will we need to plan on cleaning the surface any either?

I may go by the drift event and spread the word. I don't know what it cost to get in. They are charging to watch.
