Why not do the poll on this forum. Facebook poll are fraught with problems.

I would format it more like this:Gen52SS wrote:Can I put this poll up on Facebook just to see what feedback we get?
1-2 events
3-4 events
5 or more
OR
2 or less
3 or less
4 or less
Saying "X or more" won't be very accurate of people's opinions since we are trying to find out the max people want, not the minimum.

You could be right but I think we will still get some workable data from it this way.

Disregard. I didn't know the poll was already up when I posted that.

I'd generalize it as our fee structure is not the problem.
Guaranteeing a full roster (90+ drivers) show up + pay up in spite of a rain event / bad weather forecast - is more the nature of the problem.
Let's be clear here - you're looking at a $65 entry fee to not lose money (including depreciation of assets) on a 50 paid driver one day event at Bristol (rain) - Not exactly "modest".
Find a way to poll that or tell me my math is wrong.

But the 125-150 entry dry events can make up for that. BMS has a good national reputation...people will travel for a good course.

Re: ONE DAY BMS events
I am like Chris as I have been to zmax many times and have seen 135 people on a bad day/rain and 250 or more on a good day. My thoughts are we need to sch. at least 5 and the match tour would be 6 as I am hopeful but not sure that pelli will be a option for next year. I don't want us/etr to get caught with no place to play. I think like Chris that once the word gets out that BMS is a great place with a big lot and etr probably can have so many courses that are national style courses which helps all that travel to national events.

I tend to agree.thrdeye wrote:But the 125-150 entry dry events can make up for that. BMS has a good national reputation...people will travel for a good course.
What I'm saying is this - We have two ways to pay Bristol:
1- Pay the rental fee up front and take our own chances with rain / etc.
-or-
2- Give them the lion's share percentage of our fees - big event, rain event, whatever.
There's no point in any fee increase where the lion's share of that goes to Bristol - good event / rain event / whatever.
If we increase the fee - then we need to commit to taking our own risks with it...
But we can't forget this with regard to how many of those events can we afford: http://www.etrscca.org/soloresults/2016 ... _5_raw.htm

Re: ONE DAY BMS events
We have a flat fee if we don't have enough to do the split or if we get a huge turnout we have the 75/25 split, it is either or and we don't have an option to pay up front it all depends on our numbers as to what we have to pay.

In that case we've gotten in a situation where our good events have little chance of making up for our bad events.jcox07 wrote:we don't have an option to pay up front it all depends on our numbers as to what we have to pay.

Re: ONE DAY BMS events
If we do wind up going with BMS for more events, we may have to go from 35.00 to 40.00 but we will also have to make it where we give everyone their moneys worth with 5-6 runs and that should be that hard as we were done on the match tour and 187 drivers and 6 runs before 4pm so it can be done.

Re: ONE DAY BMS events
I'm still unclear about how the exact cost of the Bristol fee's are based....Jeff can you post the numbers exactly how those fee's are paid in Solo Committee or Board Member thread...thank you. I was thinking more on the lines of $40 or $45 ....weather is what is you can't plan on bad weather we just need the majority of events to have good attendance. Once we know Pelli is in or out we can make some easy choices. If Pelli turns out we need to look at another venue and we can find out well in advance of the season with good event promotions I can't see Bristol failing. I'm confident the poll will give us better data to work with in the upcoming weeks.

We'd hit as many as we could at BMS.
