The surface proved to be "slick" in ways that (IMHO) would make it "incredibly difficult" for any of our course designers (or drivers) to make pax or raw match neatly with expectations - not at all a "neat" match for any of our other venue surfaces, and we only get to try once a year.
Now add in how bumps, and dips in the pavement will unsettle a super stiff sprung ( no no spring) vehicle. The man on the scene, corner worker at the far back corner informed me after the event he discovered there was a hole there. It was very hard to see and was the cause of both my broken steering links and Scott to spin. We couldn't hear him yelling " GO WIDER TO AVOID THE HOLE!!"  oh well.. I enjoyed the course up to the bouncing and breakage. The Cheap-O-Set is fun and you don't notice any bumps. thanks Sean

The fastest element of a course this year was the second day SEDiv. After the 90 degree turn heading back to the showcase turn, I hit 6th after the 1st slalom cone and was WFO steering until the showcase turn.

I've always had hard time at Adesa after the Toyos and I think it's the tires that are completely done by late fall. The wheel spin at the start was worse than on any other surface I've run this year. Two sets of tires per year is a must.

There's also something funky going on with times. I'm pretty sure I didn't hit 5 cones on my 3rd run and didn't have identical times for 4th and 5th run.

That all said, I loved the course - fast and flowed very well.

Tires seem to be really sensitive to that place. I've had some really terrible events at Adesa pretty much every time but the last 2 seasons, when I happened to buy tires in June/July.

As far as comparing times in slower cars to faster cars, is it possible that sometimes folks in the slower cars might minimize the gap or beat some cars they normally don't beat because they drove well and/or outworked others?

The course was a lot of fun! I did notice more street tire cars out raw timing me than normal, but there could be lots of reasons for that. The course was very fun to drive, which is more important to me than where I place in raw time.

I'm pretty sure I heard Sean say that they decided his car was faster on street tires than r-comps Saturday - just an interesting data point about the surface (maybe).

Those R comps looked a little old. Not sure about the streets.

Just as a data point on the Adesa surface...

Last year (I think) I ran the Miata on 'kooks for my first few runs and then switched over to a year old set of Hoosier A6's and ran pretty much the exact same times.

RE71 on front and Toyo on rear.. looked fairly decent to me. However.. the car was LOOSE.. Id have swapped ends on tires.

Having a faster track at an event for charity where people, like me and others, only made it to this one event for the year is a good thing. Makes for a better watch from the fence. Hopefully UW made some good money.

Sean and I ran my r-comps for our timed runs. Second and last season for them.

My 80+ Run A7s did ok....even without the tire blankets.

I still wanna try street tires on this thing.....I sold my old 15x10s....but they would be great for a set of the 245 Maxxis strert tires
