This Sunday will be our last at Pellissippi

Post by MARKP »

Long story short, we have been notified by Pellissippi that they will not allow events like ours in 2017 and beyond. We have had a good run at Pellissippi but I think the issues with the neighbors have proved to be too much.

I want to thank everyone that has participated in the events we have had there. The events have run as smoothly as possible and, as far as I know, our participants have been mature and respectful in their conduct at the events. Let's continue that trend this Sunday. Although we have been told we won't be able to return, we don't want to burn any bridges. There may be Pellissippi officials on site on Sunday and if we know who they are, please thank them for allowing to us to run there.

We are currently working on the 2017 schedule and trying to nail down as many events as possible at Smokies and BMS. Now more than ever, it is important that we try to explore new site options. If you know of something, please find out who we need to speak with and let us make contact with them. The site needs to be roughly the same size as Pellissippi or Smokies (preferably larger) and the pavement needs to be at least as good as Adesa.

+1

PSCC took care of us and legitimately seemed to like (or at least really not mind) that we had events there until sound became an issue with the new apartments. A really good long run.

With this being our last at PSCC, invite your friends, and let's make it a good one!

Sad news for certain. That was the first site we raced with ETR. And a very easy 2 hours straight down 75. :(

Yeah. That site has been a staple. In my life, really. Getting up at a normal time on Sunday and driving a few miles down the road to autocross feels so comfortable.

So this means we're giving it a proper sendoff by going with the SCCA sound limit of 100db for the finale right?

Retitle it to "Auger free for Pellissippi?"

My car will be a little louder, but still quiet by most standards.

Hello,

Sorry to hear - though not unexpected - of the Pellissippi lot decision!

I have many, many good memories from events and fellow competitors there, so I am entered for Sunday's Finale.

Why burn a bridge? And ruin a potentially good reference?

Yeah, I agree with Scott. Someone new comes out and blows sound by a db or two - sure, maybe it can slide this time (as long as it's not Roush loud or that red Corvair - ouch!)

But intentionally making cars louder than the previous accepted limit - bad form, dick move.

A little clarification here please: Will I be allowed to run the cobra "with augers in" at 97 db this weekend or will that be considered a dick move?

With augers in - you are a gentleman and a scholar.
Augers out - dick move.

The solo committee is still talking about lifting the new, more stringent, final event limit of 93 and falling back to the previously accepted limit of 96/97.5 DNF.
