XP rule clarification.
XP rule clarification.
If I read the rules right you can't swap engines in XP. Just update or back date. So a lotus 7 has to run a lotus engine of some type. So a lotus 7 with a Nissan engine would not be legal. That sucks if I read it right. Class weight for XP is 200lbs lighter than Emod. Thanks

Prepared rules are weird and I've got some different answers from different people on this question. I didn't think wings were legal either, but people run them all the time nationally as far as I can tell.

XP is pretty different than the other P classes, if that is what you are looking at...Teufelshund wrote:Prepared rules are weird and I've got some different answers from different people on this question. I think I can run in XP. I will ask the board to make sure. I will have to run at 1760lbs.

Yeah, I haven't looked at them in a while, I just remember some confusing stuff before I bought my car. My focus was more on CP though. My specific question back then was if I could put a 302 in a car that came with a 4.6. Same make and model, just different gens. The general consensus was that engine swaps are fine, as long as they don't cross major brand lines (Ford engine in a Mercury is fine, but no Subaru engines in a Nissan).steverife wrote:XP is pretty different than the other P classes, if that is what you are looking at...Teufelshund wrote:Prepared rules are weird and I've got some different answers from different people on this question. In XP you can do cross manufacture engine swaps.
I.E. LS swapped Miata, LS Powered Lotus....etc etc etc etc .

From what I found out I can't run a lotus clone in XP. Just cobra clones. But I will ask the SEB for clarification.

That's how I understand it. The Cobra thing is a special exception, though I don't remember the details.
Also, I think wings are a special XP thing not allowed in other P classes.

I just sent my letter. Hope to get an answer before the season starts. If I can't run in XP I will run in STM for locals and Amod for the nationals.
