dad has an stm car now! also a question or 2

Post by tyd_e36 »

so dad being kinda butthurt in my opinion that he could not beat the m3 with his 914 and he did not like autocrossing the 911 or his GTI. has found his car for next year it is a 1988 944 with an ls1 renegade swap. after tune looking for 380wp current power is 318 which is really fun btw. my question now is I saw something about there being a new compound for the rival S would this be worth it to him as he sees how much I like the Re71r's. tires are now on his are a 285 in the rear he feels it will need every bit of that to be competitive along with his upcoming modifications

FWIW, the new Rival S will only be in the 255 and smaller tires. Anything wider than that will be the same tire available now.

Steve, I was told the rival s was only in the smaller sizes and the 255 was the supposedly cut off for the new compound. So my 335 will be the same as they were this year.

Oh cool, I pass 944s down the back straight of Road Atlanta in my miata all the time  Sometimes it's because they're broken down, sometimes not.

Can you fit 18" 315s or 335s on the car?

Cam swap the LS1 to get the rwhp goals you're after. Swap the 241 heads for 243's and an LS6 intake for an extra 20-25 at the wheels.
As for tires, Falken just released news at SEMA that they're making a new compound in the RT615K.

Yep. They've made quite a buzz, but it's yet to be seen if they can hang with the Rivals or Re71R's.
