E36 m3 exhaust help

Post by tyd_e36 »

So in looking for performance upgrades to the M3 since I am no longer racing strictly class.
I found that performance exhaust is way too expensive for my car I will buy headers and would like to buy just a muffler does anyone know of an exhaust Builder to make me something in between those

That's where I suggested too. It's been a while since I've been there but they did good work for me and I'm pretty picky. Sorry I couldn't help, I'm slammed.

FWIW I had Kar Kare in fountain city weld up a 3" exhaust for my E36M3 racecar years ago - worked great until the welds on the hangers broke and it dropped onto the deck on track

Okay that is good to hear, sucks the hanger broke. Also what did you do headers to muffler or what?

re-used a y-pipe section from the old exhaust, which connects the headers to the rest of the exhaust, and had them weld up cheap new aluminized tubing with a muffler at the back.

Ahh, how loud was it? I really don't want to loud I would prefer a deeper sound and what is your thought on Turner motorsports shorty headers?
