Hi guys, tomorrow is my 2nd autocross event ever (last one being at Adesa last year). This year I splurged and got some Firestone Firehawk Indy 500's(235/55/17), and I wanted to ask what you guys would recommend for tire pressure on s197 Mustang GT. I'm running Koni Orange shocks and ford racing lowering springs. I remember last year having trouble with understeer coming out of the slalom.
What would you all recommend to maximize the amount of rubber on the pavement? I'll be bringing a small pump so I can play around with different pressures.

First off.. don't expect too much from your fire hawks..
But you'll need to start out at near 40-45 and drop each run till roll over on the side wall is sufficient. Monitor after each run. Tire pressure only warrants so much chang... suspension is the bigger factor..
Good luck tomorrow

What's the best way to measure roll over? Will I see wear after each run?

Yeah you will likely be able to see it, but you could also chalk the edge of the tire. Ask the pros tomorrow. we'll help ya out. Mark Pilson or Jon Coatney are probably your best Mustang help.
But agree with John on tires. They probably won't be a magic bullet

And yeah, I know they aren't the best, but they're better than the all season hankook's I ran last year. One of these days I'll get some RE-71r's

If you are not opposed to changing a sway bar start with an adjustable rear bar, it will help more than most anything you can do for 175.00 dollars.
