Gah. Now that I got up at 6:30 and I'm ready to go, I can't make it. I wouldn't be able to stay past noon probably. I'll help next time if there's still room!

If you weren't there, you missed a great event! 6 runs and done around 5pm. Great job to all the workers for everything working so smoothly!

If you left some stuff in grid, Chasity probably has it. Let me know what you are missing.

Cory has always been fast. He was on shit tires last year and barely made any events. He posted a video of his run

Yep, he's quick, does a lot of iRacing too.

Yesterday was also a perfect course for a turbo miata, and one that's geared like the Mazdaspeed - heaven.

I was hitting limiter after the uphill left-hander leading back towards grid. Pretty sure I got some air time in the car. lol

Really fun course, had a ton of fun and the riders I took on my first 3 all came back wide-eyed and giggling.

As long as we keep having 100+ at Smokies, the course will have to be pretty similar to the last two. Good problem to have. Courses have been basic, but fun.

I got nothing for that Mazdaspeed. :(

Anyway, thanks to JY, grid, timing, and everyone else that helped accommodate my getting in some relatively legit data tire testing. Much appreciated.

Here is a video of my two best runs, a 36.630 (top) and a 37.094 (bottom). Obviously I have a lot of learning to do in order to get consistent in this car.

I see a lot of places that I screwed up in both videos, but I'm going to keep my mouth shut and let everyone else chime in first. Lemme know what you think please.

The big difference in the runs is that I shifted back to first going up the exit chute on the faster run. However, I was ahead in the slower run until the top of the straight coming up from the bottom, even though I pushed wide there in the faster run and was a couple feet off the first slalom cone. Lots of back and forth in the two videos. Really shows how much tiny differences change times.

Thanks for doing it. It kind of backs up my feelings on the two tires.

I was planning on doing the same thing you did, but me a Rob kept changing the car and I didn't want to throw in a tire change too. I also didn't feel like either. I was plum wore out after my runs.

QUESTION for the crew here: is sway bar rate the same as spring rate? I know there will be some differences in actual wheel rate since they are not located in the same place, but if you have a 100 lb spring and a 100lb swaybar rate do you end up with a 200 lb rate if everything else was equal?

No. Arm length affects the leverage on the bar. The only true measurement would be wheel rate.
