Current Sound Rules

Anyone who heard my car last weekend knows I have a bad exhaust rattle. After checking the whole system out, I believe its internal to the muffler as I can't find any loose hangers / pipe. What sound policy is currently in effect post PSTCC? The website still shows a 96 db requirement, but the national solo rules show a 100 db limit. I don't remember even seeing the sound meter set up at Smokies this weekend. I sort of remember our more restrictive 96 db was to satisfy the PSTCC folks.

Anyway, I'm not wanting to debate what the rule should be I just want to know what is in effect so I can comply with the rule. If its 100 db I'll throw a Loudmouth on the car and call it a day. If its 96db, I need to do some research because the quiet high flowing off the shelf options that existed 5-10 years ago have been discontinued.

We are running the 100 db limit.

I don't think the loudmouth will meet sound on your car. Mine is still running the cast manifolds and the cat and I ended up right at 96-97db when Mike and I ran some tests.

I don't know why not. There isn't much around there.

They upgraded the LM. Now you can get it without any muffler. Its literally just a straight pipe. Might as well go with a NASCAR side exhaust at that point.

Yeah, they got rid of the resonator. You know anything about the SLP Powerflo that replaced the Dual / dual? I don't know anyone that has it.

Nope. It has to be quieter than the Loudmouth, though. Lol

Just get a dynomax muffler and it will be good.
