I liked the grid setup - the crossing traffic coming off the course never took more than 30 seconds. Plenty of room for maneuvering around in grid too.

I couldn't figure out Sunday's course at all and kept hitting cones, but still had fun.

Another great course at Bristol. Had lots of fun, though still not fast, but working on it.

Worked corner 3 with couple of guys from Chatt. region. They had great time and said they would be back to BMS.

Michael, the object of Sunday's course was to not hit cones and I guess you were too busy counting your money from the day before...lol

What was the general consensus on the way grid was set up this time? I talked to a couple people from first run group and got positive feedback. Chris and I talked about trying that after seeing it done in Toledo. Except for the truck that was parked in the middle for the first run group I think it gave us more room and made getting in and out of spots easier.

I thought the grid setup was pretty good except the cones were spaced for a Miata and I drive a big-butt Mustang.....

This was probably be my last event of the season. Even if I get my trans fixed, the next event at Smokies is on the Sunday of Rhythm and Roots here in Bristol. I look forward to that weekend all year and I would have to miss half of it to make the event. ES was close all season Kevin, if you make one more event you will take it.

Ill be back next year, and while I'm not quite consistent enough I may play around with you pro guys.

Nothing against Bristol, but we don't need to put all our eggs in one basket. I've been pretty vocal at meetings but between the cost of running there, the fact they seem to run hot and cold about us being out there, and potential damage to the program if we had to write off a season due to loosing the lot - we really need to continue running other lots and keep looking for pavement.

I totally agree and I spend time every day looking sending emails to places that might be possible venues but wind up being not an option so until we get/find other options our eggs are in smokies and bms and with more trips city participants coming out I think it will increase numbers at bms and it is by far the best lot we have.

I've been in a place where they actually did write off a season and another place, where I started, is writing off this season because they lost their lot. I really like the bristol events but I also know all too well how real of a risk it is for a club to lose their sites and skip a season. My last break from racing, before I moved to TN, was a result of having a season being scrubbed in CA. It does long term damage to a club to lose all or part of a season.
